The PeeCee-Fawad pairing has been in news for some time now. Buzz was, the Pakistani actor has been approached to star opposite the actress in her debut production, Madamji. But Mirror has learnt that the duo has instead teamed up for Reema Kagti's next Mr Chaalu, a film originally planned with Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan.

A source close to the development told Mirror that producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani share a great working relationship with Priyanka, who also leads the cast of their family drama Dil Dhadakne Do.

Said the source, “Zoya Akhtar and Reema, who have written the script of the film earlier titled Mr. Chaalu, are both fond of PeeCee. Reema was impressed by the rushes of Dil Dhadakne Do and decided to give a narration of her next to PeeCee. The actress loved the script and instantly agreed to come on board.“ The film will now go on floors in September.

Mirror had previously reported (February 27), that Fawad replaced Saif to play a charming womaniser in the drama after Excel's negotiations with Shahid Kapoor proved futile. Is Fawad the reason for PeeCee's entry? “She's very excited to work with Fawad as it is a fresh pairing,“ said our source.

The film which was to start in January this year, couldn't go on floors after Saif's exit following a disagreement with the makers over his remuneration. Kangana too bowed out and gave her dates to Sujoy Ghosh's The Devotion of Suspect X. And in a twist of fate, Sujoy's film has her paired with Saif!
