Kalpana Lajmi's biopic on her late partner, Bhupen Hazarika couldn't take off after the Bhatts' pulled out over creative differences. Now, talks are on with a top studio to come on board as a producer.

Meanwhile, Kalpana has found a director in Prem Soni, who had last directed Preity Zinta's debut production, Ishkq In Paris. Confirming this, Kalpana said, "We should go on the floors by November. I will be the creative director. My script is locked."

Wasn't Bengal's matinee idol, Prosenjit Chatterjee, supposed to play the singer-composer? "Yes, he was but his name wasn't getting me any financers. I need someone more saleable, so now I'll approach Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh or Saif Ali Khan to play Bhupenda," she said.

And who would play her? "There are numerous talented actresses around, I'm sure I'll find a suitable girl. Pooja Bhatt was to do the role initially but the deal didn't work out," she concluded.
