Censor Board chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani has announced his decision to clear all promotional clips and trailers of films within 24 hours of submission.

A well-placed source in the Board says the decision was taken in light of serious allegations of malpractices that came to the Chair’s attention.

The source says the decision came through after “the chairperson’s film industry friends complained to him about corrupt practices in getting speedy clearance of promos during the earlier censor regime.”

This decision automatically eliminates what a source close to the Board described as “a culture of brokership that has been prevalent.”
