Anurag Kashyap's Bombay
Velvet has got the rights to Geeta Dutt's iconic song Jaata
Kahaan Hai Deewane
from the Dev Anand-starrer CID. CID was a roaring success in 1956, so the
makers of Bombay Velvet, that is also set in the 1960s, wanted to leave
no stone unturned to capture the look of the time and thus, they got
the rights to the song. While the original song was picturised on Waheeda Rehman, Anurag Kashyap has picturised it in a
contemporary way on the beautiful Anushka Sharma, who plays a 60s
superstar singer named Rosie Noronha in his romantic-thriller. She is,
in fact, singing this song when she is first noticed as a singer and
becomes the marquee performer at Johnny Balraj's (played by Ranbir
Kapoor) club Bombay Velvet. We bring you an exclusive picture of hers
while she is singing the song.
