Ever since Deepika Padukone arrived in Jaipur on Monday morning, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been in 'action'. He filmed scene after scene of Bajirao Mastani with her and Ranveer Singh for 17 hours, till his cast and crew forced him to take a break at the stroke of midnight on Tuesday, February 24, to ring in his birthday. A source from the sets informed Mirror that a cake was cut to the echoes of 'Happy Birthday to you'.

“But that was the only celebration we were allowed and were back to shooting after a little naach gaana,“ informed the source. Shooting wrapped up at 6:30 pm and the 52-year-old birthday boy was informed that he was being taken out for a Rajasthani dinner. “Ranveer, Deepika and the rest of us had planned this surprise at a dhaba on the outskirts of the city,“ added the source.

Salman Khan who was shooting an hour-and-a-half away at Gondal, near Rajkot, for Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, was expected to drive down to wish his Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam director.
“Both Salman and Sonam (Kapoor) wished Sanjay over the phone. Sonam has flown back to Mumbai for an event but Salman has been shooting all day. After he packs up, he may join the celebrations here and we can do a Dholi taro together,“ added the source.
