Shruti Haasan, whose vocals for Joganiyan in Tevar won her notice, is all set to sing for her composer guru, Ilaiyaraaja in Shamitabh. She made her singing debut with the music legend at the age of six. The Shamitabh track, titled Sanatta, is contemporary, edgy and quirky. It has the names of various contemporary singers, lyricists, actors and musicians as part of its lyrics, along with elements of beatboxing as part of the background music.

Says a source, “The song brings back the duo - Shruti and Ilaiyaraaja - five years after they worked together on one of her South films. What's more interesting is that she made her singing debut with him at the age of six for one of her father Kamal Haasan's Tamil films -Thevar Magan, a film that was later made in Hindi as Virasat. Also, Shamitabh stars her younger sister Akshara."
