Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have already been finalised for Udta Punjab, but director Abhishek Chaubey was trying to get Kareena Kapoor Khan on board for another role. Though Shahid and Kareena didn’t exactly end their relationship on a cordial note, whenever asked if they would be willing to work with each other in a film after their last film Jab We Met, the two said “Never say never.”
