Deepika Padukone is currently shooting for Shoojit
Sircar’s Piku co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan. And the
B-Town beauty is doing all she can to get into the skin of her
character, learning Bengali for the film, slated to release on April 30,
2015.
But she didn’t just stop there! She will also spend a lot of time in Kolkata interacting with locals because she also wants to pick up the right accent.
About learning Bengali, Dippy says, “I’ve played a Tamilian in Chennai Express, a Gujarati in Ram-Leela, a Maharashtrian in Happy New Year, a Goan in Finding Fanny... and now a Bengali in Piku. It’s always fun to learn a new language. It’s an altogether different learning experience.”
Oh, we’re sure DP won’t have trouble grasping the new language, given her penchant for picking roles that require her to learn new ones.
