Buzz was, Soni Razdan was planning to rope in a foreigner for her her next directorial, Love Affair. The actress was to play the role of a British woman whose extramarital affair leads to a crime of passion. But Mirror has now learnt that it will be Kalki Koechlin who will play the character modelled on Sylvia Nanavati in the film loosely based on the infamous Nanavati murder case of 1959.

Her good friend, Gulshan Devaiah, plays a her reel life her husband, a role inspired by naval commander K M Nanavati, who shot down his wife's lover Prem Ahuja, to be essayed by Arjun Rampal.

Pooja Bhatt, who is co-producing the film is categorical that they are not making a film on the Nanavati Case per se. “We are just taking portions from a real life incident that riveted the nation in the late 50s for our fictionanised account,“ she had told Mirror (Aug 8, 2014). Her co-producer, Bhushan Kumar confirms that Kalki has been finalised as the third angle of the murky love triangle. “A few modalities remain to be worked out,“ he adds.

Chandan Roy Sanyal plays a character modelled after Ram Jethmalani who was the Special Public Prosecutor in the 1959 case of K M Nanavati vs.State of Maharashtra.
