Chi Chi to play Alia’s dad

 It seems that Govinda is fast becoming the go-to guy to play onscreen fathers. The actor, who is playing Ranbir Kapoor's father in Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos, will soon begin shooting for Vikas Bahl's Shaandaar, in which he will be seen as leading lady Alia Bhatt's father.

Reveals a source close to the production, "It's a comic role though not a large one. But Govinda responded positively to the script. He is perfect for the part and is quite excited about it as well. He's ready to play a father now because he knows that he cannot play, or get the romantic roles he did during the 90's."

Shaandaar will be Vikas Bahl's second film after the much-acclaimed Queen and will be shot extensively in Europe too. Vikas, who is currently on a recce for the film, couldn't be reached for a comment.

However, when contacted, Govinda said, "I've received a narration. It would be unprofessional to divulge any details at this point."
