When Sonam Kapoor stepped into the shoes of Rekha in the Khubsoorat remake, she had the veteran actresses' blessing but that's not where her association with the upcoming film ended. Mirror has it that Rekha is keeping close tabs on what Anil Kapoor's daughter Rhea (who is producing the remake) is including in her version of one of her favourite films.
Rekha has been in close touch with Anil's family. A source tells Mirror, “Rhea has kept Rekha abreast of all the developments. The movie is now almost com plete and Rekha is pretty satisfied with whatever Shashanka Ghosh (the remake's director) has canned." Furthermore, the Kapoor sisters have decided that the diva will be the first person outside the family and the cast and crew to see the film.

Confirming the same, Rhea said, “I owe this to Rekhaji."

The original Khubsoorat directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, also starred Ashok Kumar, Dina Pathak and Rakesh Roshan. The film won the 1981 Filmfare Award for best movie and Rekha won her first Filmfare best actress trophy.
