Shah Rukh Khan-Salman Khan's mega events held on the same day & almost same time

Sunday was the day of the
Khans. While Shah Rukh wooed the young, and the young at heart, at a
Father's Day event at a city mall, Salman unveiled the first trailer of
his upcoming film, Kick, at a suburban theatre. What was interesting
is that both the events were timed just half an hour apart, splitting
up the fans and dividing the media turnout, since both were open to the
public.
Sallu's event started with a bang with over 500 fans outside Bandra's Gaiety theatre setting up an ear-splitting roar in anticipation of bhai's entry, both on screen and off it.
Around the same time, SRK was dancing to the tunes Chammak Challo and Lungi Dance with kids, in far-flung Ghatkopar.
The invites for the SRK event had gone out on Wednesday, June 13 while the invite for the Kick event arrived only late on Saturday.
When asked whether he had planned his event to coincide with SRK's, Sallu quipped, “Planning aur main?“ and thwarted further questioning by breaking into a jig.
Meanwhile SRK refused to comment on the subject. This is not the first time the two stars have clashed on the social calendar. Two years ago, an event to announce Salman as the brand ambassador of a travel portal was postponed by a couple of hours so that Salman took the stage at exactly the time that SRK was supposed to arrive at an event, a few kilometres away.
That time too he had refused to entertain any questions on the `timely' coincidence.
RIGHT QUESTION, WRONG PLACE
Aap galat jagah aaye hain," retorted Salman Khan, in a loop, breaking into another jig when asked about Preity Zinta's headline grabbing accusation against ex-boyfriend Ness Wadia. Salman's friendship with the actress goes back to their first film, Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega(2000) after which they did several films. She also did a special number in his Main Aur Mrs Khanna and he did a cameo for her debut production, Ishqk in Paris. But when it was pointed out to him that his good friend was going through a tough time, Salman broke into a jig and started pacing the stage without saying a word.
He then asked the mic to be taken away from the reporter and passed the buck to his co-star Randeep Hooda, who politely said, "I think it's her personal matter. I shouldn't comment."
