Director Sujoy Ghosh who’s still in search for his leading lady in Durga Rani Singh has found the leading man for the film.

According to a source, “Sujoy is still in search for the leading lady and there has been several names doing the rounds but nothing has been finalised yet. Irrfan Khan has agreed to do the lead role. The film will be shot in various locations including West Bengal. Sujoy has been busy traveling scouting the location for the film.”

The film has been in the news for quite some now because of its casting woes. First, it was Vidya Balan who was slated to play the lead of the film. When she opted out — surprisingly enough, given her proximity to Sujoy — Kangana Ranaut was said to be approached who too turned down the offer. Since the role is said to be a powerful one, Sujoy is in hunt for someone who will have the acting prowess to play it well.

Irrfan confirmed that he is doing Sujoy’s film as he texted, “I have already signed it. It’s a thriller.” Sujoy remained unavailable for comment.
