Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor will mark their first outing together with the sequel to ABCD — Any Body Can Dance. The original, India’s first 3D dance film, was inspired by the true story of a desi troupe that participated in the World Hip Hop Championship. The second chapter, we hear, promises to be bigger in scale. Says Varun, who’s a proficient dancer, “I have been preparing for this film for long and have already injured myself several times. But my teachers motivate me.”

While Remo D’Souza will continue to direct as well as choreograph the sequel, Prabhu Dheva will return to play a key role. The movie is slated to be shot extensively in Las Vegas, with over 10 songs and dance sequences. Says Remo, “Dance has always been my passion and through ABCD, I saw my passion come to life on the big screen.”

Siddharth Roy Kapur, Managing Director, Disney India, which is producing the movie, adds, “ABCD was well appreciated and we knew that it was one of those movies that naturally lend themselves to becoming a true-blue franchise. While ABCD 2 is about great dancing, awesome music and 3D format, it is also an emotional and dramatic story that will strike a chord across all ages.”

ABCD 2 will go on floors in July this year.
