Yes, you heard it right. Kiran Rao was offered a role by Rajkumar Hirani in PK. And if sources close to the film unit are to be believed, she was willing to accept the part; reportedly that of a nautch girl. Kiran was initially enthused about listening to the narration and even volunteered to do the audition.

 Her husband Aamir Khan has always encouraged his ‘K’ to try her hand at acting. In fact, he was very keen that Kiran do a role in Dhobi Ghat, her first directorial venture. But the practical star wife refused, because she wasn’t keen to multitask at that stage.

 This time around, when Aamir heard that Raju had a part for Kiran, he is said to have suggested that she should give it a shot. An insider adds, “But at the nth hour, Kiran seems to have developed cold feet about making her acting debut in PK”

 We asked for an official comment from the film’s spokesperson, but they refused to comment.
