DHADAK did well in its first week with business of 50.50 crore nett. The film got a good start and scored over the weekend and saw a good hold on Monday. There has been a drop in collections towards the end of the week but the film has been liked by the youth outside the big metros.
The film has done very good business in places like UP, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Nizam Andhra and Bihar but is low in Wast Punjab and Delhi city. Mumbai is also on the lower side but the original Marathi film SAIRAT from which DHADAK is adapted did very well in CP Berar and the Marathawada belt of Nizam/Andhra circuit and DHADAK has scored best in same markets.
The collections of DHADAK till date are below.
Friday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 13,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 4,75,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 4,00,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 3,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 50,50,00,000 apprx
The eighth day will tell where the film is going but the film is a HIT as it will cross 65 crore nett for lifetime business unless there is a shocking drop. On the other hand, the hold cant be accepted to be super strong also as there are many areas where the film has not been liked. In terms of appreciation its a mixed bag with some places positive and other negative.
Meanwhile, the Hollywood release SKYSCRAPER grossed a poor 7.75 crore nett in week one while HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: SUMMER VACATION was even worse with around 3.75 crore nett

DHADAK has done good business over its first weekend by collecting 33 crore nett which is the highest weekend total for a newcomer film although there has been no newcomer film for a few years. The trend of the film is strong with solid growth on Saturday and Sunday.
The Sunday growth probably puts the film on course to be a HIT film although it will be the Monday numbers that confirm this. It jumped close to 30% which is excellent for a Sunday and more than its Saturday growth which means it is doing well all over.
The collections in Punjab and Delhi city are lower but have showed growth over the weekend and should hold well enough. The best markets for the film are Nizam/Andhra, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Bihar and Gujarat.
The first weekend collections of the film are below.
Friday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 13,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 33,00,00,000 apprx
The film has also done pretty well Overseas with collections of $1.2 million in 3 days with Gulf and US/Canada both giving a contribution of $400k each. The collections are so so for a 40 crore plus film but considering it had no face value, then the total is a healthy one.
This gives the film a worldwide total of 51 crore apprx. The comparative figure for STUDENT OF THE YEAR was 40 crore while HEROPANTI was 30.50 crore apprx but that was lower costing film.
The Hollywood film SKYSCRAPER fared poorly over the first weekend grossing around 5.50 crore nett in its firth weekend. There was some growth over the weekend but the collections were generally dull. The other Hollywood film HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA 3: SUMMER VACATION grossed around 2.75 crore nett which is low but it has come from a first day of just 45 lakhs nett.

DHADAK made good gains of around 25% as it grossed 10.50-10.75 crore nett on its second day. The film managed to jump well at multiplexes in the metros and the collections in circuits like Nizam/Andhra where it opened very well held up pretty well.
The opening in Nizam/Andhra and CP Berar was better than films like PAD MAN, VEERE DI WEDDING and RAID which were 10 crore nett all India openings or close. DHADAK is poor in East Punjab and so so in Delhi city (some theatres are doing well while others not). Though Delhi city is so so, the Delhi/UP circuit is good due to UP.
The first two day collections of the film are as follows.
Friday - 8,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 19,25,00,000 apprx
The weekend should comfortably cross 30 crore nett and the it will be Monday that will tell if the film can become a HIT.

DHADAK had a good opening day of around 8.50 crore nett which is the highest opening day for a film featuring newcomers. The film scored well outside the metros especially in Nizam and CP Berar and in these places the Marathi film SAIRAT from which this film has been remade was widely watched.
The numbers are also good in UP, Bihar, Rajasthan and Gujarat but places like Delhi city, East Punjab and Mysore are on the lower side. There is a a lot of scope of improvement in the collections in the metros so it could jump on Saturday but it could also be that the content is more suited to the Hindi belts.
Despite the good start it will need to show a reasonable jump as only then can the film have a chance to sustain from Monday. The opening pretty much ensures the film is safe on a start like this but there has to appreciation for the newcomers to gain from the film.
The opening day of the film is the eighth best this year beating films like RAAZI and PARMANU and is mainly behind the cast films. In terms of newcomers it is the best opening day ever beating the figures of STUDENT OF THE YEAR which grossed 7.52 crore nett in 2012.
The top opening days with films featuring newcomers are as follows.
1. Dhadak (2018) - 8.50 crore apprx
2. Student Of The Year (2012) - 7.52 crore
3. Hero (2015) - 6.69 crore
4. Heropanti (2014) - 6.51 crore
5. Ishaqzaade (2012) - 4.48 crore
There has been a big gap between DHADAK and the others with HERO in 2015 being the most recent release. So if you take into account GST and higher ticket rates the real value is probably a little lower than films like STUDENT OF THE YEAR and HEROPANTI.
---------------------
The Hollywood film SKYSCRAPER had low collections as it collected around 1.25 crore nett apprx. If the figures from South come in a little better it could be 10 lakhs higher but that hardly changes the scenario. The film had action but the audience was not interested.
