SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR had a decent third week of 17.50 crore nett but the film is seeing dropping collections as collections are 60% from the previous week. The total collections of the film stand at 150 crore nett and it may finish around the 160 crore nett though a lot depends on the fall today.

The film collected 87 crore nett in the first week and that has turned out the biggest plus of the film as you would think a film of this genre would really go on after the first week. But obviously appreciation is at a middle level. The disappointment is probably centres like Mumbai city and Bangalore where a film like this with Aamir Khan should be doing better numbers.

East Punjab is coming out the best circuit which is a huge surprise as the circuit is not the same as before and generally under performing but SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR is very good in East Punjab with a 16 crore nett apprx total so far in three weeks.

SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR collected 7-7.25 crore nett on its first Wednesday which is s drop of around 15% and a the drop is a little higher than it should have been with 10% being ideal considering the weekend trend. But generally there was a big drop for Hindi films on Wednesday and that is with accounting for the others which were coming out of the cheap Tuesday rates.

The film is a HIT but if the film sees 15% drops over the next two days, then that second Friday will not be high as it should be and that is all important if the film is to do anything more than HIT business. No doubt the growth will be huge on Saturday. So, the higher the Friday, the better it will be.

The film stands at 81 crore nett till date and will be around 87.50 crore nett for the first week which is good number especially come from a 10 crore nett start. However, there is work for the film to be done to do the sort of business that the superb holds on Monday and Tuesday suggested.

SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR has seen a good first week collecting 86.50 crore nett after picking up very well on Saturday and holding well on the weekdays though the film could have held better over the last two days. The film saw a superb hold on Monday dropping just 20% on Monday. When Monday is so strong, there is always a chance the film can show minimal drops over the weekdays.

The film is a HIT but it remains to be seen if it can do any better and that all depends on where it lands on the second Friday. The holds on Monday and Tuesday suggested the film should go to around 175 crore nett but that does not look so easy now especially as the flow of releases is super strong over the next few weeks from both Hindi and Hollywood.

The target for the film is to probably finish somewhere in the range where films like HOUSEFULL 5 and RAID 2 have finished and that is a very good number for the content of the film as it lacks wider appeal compared to those factors. The film must record a second Friday similar to Thursday to ensure that it comfortably goes over the 150 crore nett mark.

SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR was rock steady on its first Tuesday as it collected in the same range as Monday with around 8.50 crore nett coming in. The collections were a little higher at some places compared to Monday. This has all come without the discounted Tuesday rates. Hence, the film should continue its steady run on Wednesday.

The total of the film now stands at almost 74 crore nett and the week can come close to 90 crore nett. Basically its a similar figure to RAID 2 but the trend is stronger; so, the film should cross the lifetime business of that film. SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR is a metro film but its cant be called a five city film as the contributions from other A centres cant be called great. But they are better than the those urban hits pre pandemic. Post pandemic there is hardly a comparison as the films catering to metros have not really done well. There is maybe ROCKY AUR RANI KII PREM KAHAANI and SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR's contribution outside metros is better than that film.

The film is going to see a very good hold in week two as the weekend does big numbers but remains to be seen what the drop week on week is as this will determine if the film goes on to become a SUPER HIT film.

SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR has seen a fantastic hold on Monday as it collected 8.50 crore dropping only 20% from the first day. The mass appeal of the film is limited which makes this hold better and this ensures the film is a HIT and with good chances to do better. The total collections of the film stand at  65 crore nett after four days and the film will be looking at week 85-90 crore nett.

The film is not going with discounted rates on Tuesday which is a positive sign. At least, the industry is getting this right as its a must if the film is working to at least hold off discounted rates in week one and even week two if numbers remain high enough. Both RAID 2 and now SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR have gone this way. The latter is actually distributed by PVR who initiated this scheme which itself tells the story and not much needs to be said. There is a small segment in the industry thinking films are not doing well because of ticket pricing and this thinking has to go away.

The issue is content and for pricing, its the concessions. The ones who have indulged in feeding, which is most of the industry will know this, as their free tickets were refused by people as they knew a trip would mean heavy concession spends.

Coming back to SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR, its a fantastic trend and now its about where the second Friday lands. Although there is a huge flow of releases, this film can continue to compete with them due to this hold on Monday. The film continues to do excellent business in NCR though western pockets like Mumbai and Pune have dropped more. The film is going to fare better in North than Mumbai circuit.

SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR has seen a good weekend with excellent collections on Saturday and Sunday as both both got 20 crore nett days with Saturday at 20 crore nett and Sunday going to 25.5-26 crore nett. The Sunday numbers could have been better but they slowed in the evening and night shows but that is there most of the time unless there is a holiday the next day. It hardly makes much difference to the overall picture as Sunday growth still is very good.

The film has put up a weekend of 56 crore nett and is sure to hold on Monday with this trend. A number similar to the first day would be good as then the film will have the potential to do a number which will not only be very good for the content but also justify the presence of a star like Aamir Khan. The Monday numbers should confirm the HIT status of the film.

The Sunday numbers were also good in the mass circuits as Rajasthan picks up over 1 crore nett and a circuit like Gujarat which tends to be less for Aamir Khan starrers has also done well on Saturday and Sunday especially for the zone of the film. They are not huge numbers here but good enough to suggest that the film is a little more than just a five city film. The NCR belt is fantastic and Mysore has seen superb numbers especially on Saturday and Sunday. The film picked up around $3 million overseas with a strong Gulf thous US / Canada should have done better.

SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR made good ground post the late afternoon shows to get into double digits as it picked up around 10.50 crore nett which is a decent number. The number could have been called good if would not have been an Aamir Khan starrer. The film is also a sequel to the 2007 film TAARE ZAMEEN PAR but that film will hardly hold much value to today. It can be seen with the initial results of this film as only 10 crore nett has come for an Aamir Khan film and that too with a strong pick up.

It is a solid number for the content as it gives a chance for success and the potential to grow over the weekend which it will no doubt. The biggest plus is the film has very limited expectations today as a similar type of film, LAAL SINGH CHADDHA, made on a larger scale but in the same zone did not work at all. If this had released three years back instead of LAAL SINGH CHADDHA, then expectations would have been much higher and this 10 crore nett plus number would have been seen as very poor. Now the industry has generally settled with lower expectations when a film is not likely to reach the mass audience.

The comparables for the film are probably OMG 2 and KESARI CHAPTER 2 as post pandemic, they have a similar audience profile generally catering to the gentry audience. Not only that those two films are also franchise films but also had a star like Akshay Kumar whereas here its Aamir Khan. The difference being that Akshay Kumar has so many releases in a year while Aamir Khan has come after many years. It shows the struggle that the stars have when content has limited reach as pre pandemic, these films would have opened much better.

SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR has set itself up for a good Saturday and Sunday which should ensure a good weekend for the film but it will be about the collections of the film post the weekend and what it can do in the weekdays and after. The film has fared best in the NCR region as the film probably has that region flavour. 

The film collected around $750k in Overseas which could have been better as Aamir Khan has huge value in international markets. Being a gentry film, it should not be hit as hard as India but a market like USA has come out with surprising low collections. It should pick up in Overseas as well. Again, the Aamir Khan name there should have worked better.

SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR has seen an excellent Saturday in the range of 20 crore nett which means almost a doubling up of collections. This sort of growth at these levels has not been seen post pandemic as the positive reports and probably the goodwill factor of Aamir Khan comes into play with the multiplex crowd. The growth is also there in mass circuits and its pretty good numbers also though ratio remains less.

The film is a sureshot success and the advances are super strong for a Sunday as the family crowds in big centers come in numbers. The growth for Sunday is also looking huge at the moment but there is the drop off in evening and night shows to come. Yet, Sunday is sure to be good. The collections in two days are around 30 crore nett and it could be a 55 crore nett weekend, after which its all about the weekdays.

The film has also bought a lot of optimism within the film industry as the film brings in this 20 crore nett number by targeting mainly the gentry crowd. It just gives hope that numbers can still come even if films hold less appeal for the Hindi circuits as the industry really struggles to cater to the mass belts due to lack of talent for that job in terms of writers and directors. But obviously one film is not going to change the scenario. It will need more films of this zone to get results. The overseas numbers also saw a good uptick as the film stands at around $2 million in two days though USA can do better being an Aamir Khan film, that too for the gentry crowd.
