SHUBH MANGAL ZYADA SAAVDHAN had a fair first week of 42.25 crore nett though it did not hold that well on the weekdays. The film has faced rejection outside Delhi NCR and it be will down to this area to push it a little if it can and maybe try for AVERAGE status.

The film will need a digit double second week for a chance of being an Average grosser and it can happen as Delhi NCR may not drop much on the second Friday though other areas will. Delhi NCR saw a jump in business on Thursday. Better business in Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata would have really helped the cause of the film. The mass belts were dull especially Gujarat/Saurashtra.

This takes the total collection of the film to 37 crore nett and its heading for a 42 crore nett first week.

This drop could mean that the film finds it difficult to reach the average mark especially if this sort of trend continues till Thursday. The plus is weak competition from the new releases this week but it needs to hit a double digit weekend or close to be an average fare. The film remains best in Delhi NCR though collections took a hit there also on Tuesday.

SHUBH MANGAL ZYADA SAAVDHAN dropped on Monday as it collected 3.50 crore nett taking its four day total to 34 crore nett. The drop is around 50% on real value but these type of film has to hold better on Monday. The film has done decent in some markets due to the humour and the film has got lucky there. These sort of films need relatablity and there will be a very limited audience which is going to relate with gay characters. The film would have been a disaster without the humour but because of this, it still has a chance of being an AVERAGE fare despite the low Monday.

The first week is going to 42-43 crore nett and then it will be the second weekend which will decide whether it can be an Average fare. The film will beat the numbers of SHUBH MANGAL SAAVDHAN in week one but that is not saying much. The film had no brand value and the numbers pretty much tell that. Despite the film being rejected in most markets it has been helped by good revenue from satellite and digital which almost covers the total costs of the film. So it will make good money.

SHUBH MANGAL ZYADA SAAVDHAN had a decent weekend of 30.75 crore nett though the growth on Sunday was limited. The fair value collections of the film are 7 crore nett on Friday,10.50 crore nett on Saturday and 11 crore nett on Sunday. So there was decent growth on Saturday.

The weekend number is good for the film though bigger numbers on Saturday and Sunday would make you confident of strong weekday numbers while its difficult to tell now. The film has done will in Delhi NCR, East Punjab and Rajasthan. Generally North has done well and some parts of Rajasthan behave like North which has probably enabled that circuit to do well. There are no issues with recovery for this film as it got around 40 crore for its satellite and digital rights but that does not mean much in terms of appreciation and for that, it needs to sustain at the box office

The Monday number is very important for the film and just a decent hold would probably make it an average. If it can drop under 50% drop from Friday, it could even have a chance of being a HIT as there is limited competition next week.

SHUBH MANGAL ZYADA SAAVDHAN did well on Saturday as it collected 10.75 crore nett on Saturday which is a jump of 20% from Mahashivratri holiday. The real value of the Friday collections is around 50-55% as if it was not a holiday it would have been a 7 crore nett Friday

The jump is good but for this type of film though a little more than 50-55% was probably optimum. The two day collections are almost 20 crore nett and its pretty sure to do a 30 crore nett weekend which is a good result for the film. If the film can hold well on Monday it should do well. The last two Ayushmann Khurana films have done 140 and 110 crore nett respectively so the trade and industry starts to expect numbers in that range but the numbers for these depend on the content and not the actor as opening is never huge.

This will not do the numbers of those films but if Monday can hold at 50% or of Friday then it will do at least decent numbers if not good numbers at the box office.
