FANSTASIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD will not do that well as it looks to record 16 crore nett in the first week and then might just make it to 20 crore nett which is not quite better than the last film in this franchise.

MOHALLA ASSI is very dull with collections of just 20 lakh nett on Monday. It will close the week on at around 1.75 crore nett and that will be it for the film. The film has done a little better in the main cities of UP. Mumbai circuit has horrendous collections.

The collections MOHALLA ASSI till date are as follows.
Friday - 30,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 30,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 40,00,000 apprx
Monday - 20,00,000 apprx

PIHU fell on Monday as it collected in the 25 lakhs nett range. The film has been made on very low costs of under 5 crore including promotion but there will not be much revenue outside India theatrical. So 7 crore nett business would have taken this film over the line but it just failed to grow on Saturday. The first week will be around 2.50-2.75 crore nett.

The collections of PIHU till date are as follows.
Friday - 45,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 55,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 65,00,000 apprx
Monday - 25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,90,00,000 apprx

FANSTASIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD also fell on Monday as it collected 1.25 crore nett. The film will do around 16 crore nett in the first week. The last film in the series grossed 15.50 crore nett so that will be beaten but by a minimal amount when actually the potential now is to challenge that figures over the weekend alone.

The collections of FANSTASIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD till date are as follows.
Thursday - 75,00,000 apprx
Friday - 2,65,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 4,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 12,90,00,000 apprx

Box Office India Trade Network

MOHALLA ASSI is a dull fare with collections of just 1 crore nett. The film had already been leaked on the internet earlier this year so it was basically a token gesture release. But even if it was not leaked there is little chance of such films collecting at the box office due to lack of entertainment.

The collections MOHALLA ASSI till date are as follows.
Friday - 30,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 30,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 40,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,00,00,000 apprx

PIHU failed to show much improvement over Saturday and Sunday which was a must. The film was never going to collect much but needed a strong trend over the weekend to have some sort of run at the box office but the trend was also poor like the collections. The film collected 1.65 crore nett over its first weekend.

The collections of PIHU till date are as follows.
Friday - 45,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 55,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 65,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,65,00,000 apprx

FANSTASIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD is below the mark with a little under 12 crore nett for its three day weekend and paid previews. It is far better than the Hindi releases but that was always going to happen.

The collections of FANSTASIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD till date are as follows.
Thursday - 75,00,000 apprx
Friday - 2,65,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 4,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 11,65,00,000 apprx

The new Hindi releases faltered on Saturday as the collections of MOHALLA ASSI dropped a little and PIHU could not get gains. MOHALLA ASSI which had most of its collections in UP on day one saw a drop in the area on day two. The film has collected just 55 lakhs nett in two days.

The collections MOHALLA ASSI till date are as follows.
Friday - 30,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 55,00,000 apprx

PIHU grew just 10% on its second day which is poor for a content film. The film has costs of under 5 crore including marketing so there is not much to cover but if the film could have done 8-10 crore theatrically it would have been a decent result but that looks tough as the audience has not come on Saturday.

The collections of PIHU till date are as follows.
Friday - 45,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 95,00,000 apprx

FANSTASIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD showed a good upturn on day two as it went up around 40%. The first day was on the lower side so the overall Saturday number is still low but the growth is decent. It has collected 7 crore nett plus in two days plus previews on Thursday.

The collections of FANSTASIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD till date are as follows.
Thursday - 75,00,000
Friday - 2,65,00,000
Saturday - 3,75,00,000
TOTAL - 7,15,00,000 apprx

There were two main Hindi releases this week with MOHALLA ASSI and PIHU and both could not do much on the opening day as both films had nothing to interest the initial audience. PIHU is a film with a child as the main protagonist while Mohalla Assi is a long delayed film with nothing in it in the form of entertainment (from the trailer point of view). The collections of the two films were as follows.

Mohalla Assi: 25-30 lakhs - The film did better in UP as the base was Benaras and it collected around 11-12 lakhs in the Delhi/UP circuit but Mumbai circuit has half of Delhi/UP.

Pihu: 40-45 lakhs - This film should grow better than MOHALLA ASSI and if it can get 1 crore nett on Saturday it may have a chance for some sort of run. It has collected better than similar films like STANLEY KA DABBA (25 lakhs nett) and TRAPPED (25 lakhs nett) but both these films were duds.

The best release of the week was FANSTASIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD which is a big budget Hollywood film but it hold little value in India and also does not have the sort of content that is needed for India. The film managed to get 2.75 crore nett on the first day which is the lower side

The first film is in this series, FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM, was released in 2016 and did not do well so that is an obstacle already for the second film in the franchise as far as India is concerned. FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM released in 2016 did business of around 15.50 crore nett in its lifetime run.

The opening day of that film was in the 1.75 crore nett range so even if we look at in that point of view its not really gone up by much with just an extra 1 crore nett coming and Hollywood is a a different level than it was in 2016.

The Saturday growth will tell if FANSTASIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD has any chances of sustaining after weekend but a film of this sort probably needed better opening day collections.
