BALA is coming to the end of its run and will finish with 111 crore nett. The film suffered a huge drop with the release of PATI PATNI AUR WOH and PANIPAT in week five. Though the film has not really gone on from the first week like a concept film should but given the low cost of the film, it is still a SUPER HIT film.
It is 14th highest grosser of the year and has managed to beat bigger films like DE DE PYAAR DE and MANIKARNIKA - THE QUEEN OF JHANSI.
The collections of BALA till date are as follows.
Week One - 69,22,00,000
Week Two - 25,84,00,000
Week Three - 10,05,00,000
Week Four - 4,73,00,000
Week Five - 82,00,000
Week Six - 20,00,000 apprx (3 days)
TOTAL - 1,10,86,00,000 apprx
MARJAAVAAN has finished its run with a little under 46 crore nett. The film is a BELOW AVERAGE affair due to low costs. The film had a decent start but could not really do much after the first week.
The collections of MARJAAVAAN till date are as follows.
Week One - 37,15,00,000
Week Two - 7,24,00,000
Week Three - 1,57,00,000
Week Four - 12,25,000
Week Five - 75,000 apprx (3 days)
TOTAL - 45,58,00,000 apprx
PAGALPANTI is also out of cinemas and will finish with figures of under 33.50 crore nett. It is the biggest FLOP of the year from all major releases at the moment but it looks like PANIPAT may take the this title away as it will stay below the PAGALPANTI lifetime number.
The collections of PAGALPANTI till date are as follows.
Week One - 28,59,00,000
Week Two - 4,62,00,000
Week Three - 18,00,000
Week Four - 2,00,000 apprx (3 days)
TOTAL - 33,41,00,000 apprx

BALA was decent in the fourth week as it collected 4.50 crore nett. The hold in the fourth week was actually better than all the previous weeks as it fell only 55% while the first week and second week had seen falls of over 60%.
The film has now collected almost 110 crore nett and should be able to add another 2 crore odd from here on to finish at around 112 crore nett. The film will finish around the 32.50 crore nett mark in Mumbai while Delhi/UP will be the best performing circuit with around 31 crore nett.
The collections of BALA till date are as follows.
Week One - 69,41,00,000
Week Two - 25,84,00,000
Week Three - 10,10,00,000
Week Four - 4,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,09,85,00,000 apprx
MARJAAVAAN dropped 80% plus in the third week as it collected 1.25 crore nett apprx. The film has now collected a little over 45.50 crore nett and will finish at 46 crore nett.
The collections of MARJAAVAAN till date are as follows.

MARJAAVAAN had a drop in collections in week two as it collected around 7.25 crore nett taking its two week business to 44.50 crore nett. The drop in the second week is 80% which is on the higher side. The film has managed decent business in some of the smaller circuits but a 50 crore nett total does seem hard to reach especially if it repeats the second week drop.
The plus is that the film has worked better than recent Siddharth Malhotra films and the budget is not huge. So satellite and digital will take it over the line but that is the case with practically every major film barring say PAGALPANTI.
The collections of MARJAAVAAN till date are as follows.
Week One - 37,15,00,000 apprx
Friday - 1,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 1,40,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 2,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 80,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 80,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 70,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 60,00,000 apprx
Second Week - 7,30,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 44,45,00,000 apprx
BALA did pretty well in week three with collections of 11 crore nett but films like CHHICHHORE and DREAM GIRL were crossing the 20 crore nett mark in week three and that is the difference between BALA and those films as they had more appreciation from a similar multiplex audience so sustained better. Still BALA will do around 110 crore nett and is a SUPER HIT film thanks to the strong first five day and low costs. It is the eighth biggest HIT of the year after KABIR SINGH, WAR, URI, HOUSEFULL 4, MISSION MANGAL, CHHICHHORE and DREAM GIRL. These seven and BALA are the SUPER HIT or better films of 2019.
The collections of BALA till date are as follows.
Week One - 69,41,00,000
Week Two - 25,84,00,000
Friday - 1,25,00,000 apprx

MARJAAVAAN collected 80 lakh nett on Monday which is a 20% drop from Friday and took its eleven day total to 42.50 crore nett apprx. The second week is heading towards a figure of 7.25 crore which is a low second week. The film will need to add around 5 crore nett post the second week for a 50 crore nett total which looks to be tough.

MARJAAVAAN saw a big drop in business in the second week as it collected just 4.50 crore nett taking its ten day total 42 crore nett. The film did not do well in metros in week one so the drop there was always likely but it had a similar drop in mass markets as it lost single screens to PAGALPANTI.
The film was showing 80% plus drops in places like Rajasthan, CI and Maharashtra and it had to maintain better in these markets. The film also did not grow much on Saturday but the Sunday growth was solid. The 50 crore nett mark looks a tough target now with this drop and it looks a 46-48 crore nett finish for the film depending on what sort of collections come next week.
The collections of MARJAAVAAN till date are as follows.
Friday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,00,00,000 apprx

MARJAAVAAN saw a drop in business on its second Friday as it collected 1 crore nett. The collections came down over 60% from Friday and are 85% down from the first day. The film was doing well in mass centres and has lost most of the collecting screens due to the release of PAGALPANTI.
The drop is across the board as the bigger multiplexes screenings were going to be limited in week two as the film is not doing too well there. The collections till date for the film are almost 38 crore nett and it remains to be seen what sort of growth comes over the weekend. The film is looking to be an AVERAGE/BELOW AVERAGE affair depending on what it can get up on the board from here.
The collections of MARJAAVAAN till date are as follows.
Friday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,00,00,000 apprx

MARJAAVAAN had a decent first week as it collected 36.75 crore nett. The film had a fair start and did well on Sunday and then the hold was also good on Monday but over the weekdays, the falls are a little higher than normal as everyday it was falling in the 15% range.
MARJAAVAAN scored in the mass centres of UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI, Maharashtra and Nizam while other areas were not so good especially Delhi NCR and East Punjab where the film has not worked at all. The second Friday has to hold very well if the film is to become a HIT but with PAGALPANTI releasing and with those weekday drops, the more likely scenario is an AVERAGR/SEMI HIT type of success which is still a good result for this film.
The collections of MARJAAVAAN till date are as follows.
Friday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 9,75,00,000 apprx

MARJAAVAAN had a decent Tuesday as it collected 3.50 crore nett and took its five day total to almost 31 crore nett. There is a 15% drop on Tuesday but that is okay as its only 50% down from day one on Tuesday when that could have easily have happened on Monday.
The first week should be around 37 crore nett or close to it and then there will be the crucial second Friday. The film is doing well in UP, Bihar, MP, Rajasthan and Maharashtra and its going to be how well the film can hold screens there. The film has the best single screens in these areas and PAGALPANTI will also want these single screens which could mean that MARJAAVAAN goes to the lesser collecting single screens in these circuits.
The collections of MARJAAVAAN till date are as follows.
Friday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 9,75,00,000 apprx

MARJAAVAAN is a successful film as it held up well on Monday to collect 4 crore nett. The drop from Friday was just a little above 40% as it generally held up well all over. The business in four days is 27.75 crore and it should do a first week of 37-38 crore nett.
The film dropped in Delhi NCR and Punjab but the rest of India held well, even the multiplexes of Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata. Although they were at low levels on Friday the drops are around 40% unlike Delhi NCR and East Punjab which is also multiplex heavy but saw a drop of 50% plus and here also Friday was low. If the film can hold well on the second Friday it can even become a HIT but there will be competition especially in mass belts from PAGALPANTI.
The collections of MARJAAVAAN till date are as follows.
Friday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 9,75,00,000 apprx

MARJAAVAAN had a decent weekend with figures of 23.75 crore nett and the film scored well on Sunday to be around the 10 crore nett mark. The jump on Sunday was very good as markets showed growth of 50% be it Gujarat/Saurashtra or CP, CI Rajasthan. The metros of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore etc have not done too well but that is sort of expected with a film like this.
The film does have the best ratio of business from single screens this year with around 70% from multiplexes and 30% from single screens. The only film which has a ratio close to this film at single screens is SAAHO. The test will be if these mass belts can hold on Monday and if the film can show a drop of under 50%, it should be able to do reasonably well at box office. The film has the best weekend results for a Siddharth Malhotra starrer since KAPOOR & SONS which did around 25 crore nett.
The collections of MARJAAVAAN till date are as follows.
Friday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 9,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 23,75,00,000 apprx
MOTICHOOR CHAKNACHOOR had a poor weekend with collections under 1.50 crore nett.

MARJAAVAAN maintained decent collections on its second day although there was no growth but this is because of the business profile of this film. If the film was a urban multiplex film then it would be lights out if Saturday behaved like this but as most of the business is coming from smaller centres, its done pretty well not to drop on Saturday.
The film collected 7 crore nett apprx on day two which is the same as day one. There will be growth in Mumbai circuit as the final number should be 15-20 lakhs nett higher than Friday. The drops for the film are mainly in UP and Bihar as they had good collections on day one. The mass markets of Rajasthan, CP Berar and CI were flat on Saturday and these circuits having a similar Saturday trend as East Punjab or West Bengal is a plus. The holds in mass markets on Monday will determine the fate of this film.
The collections of MARJAAVAAN till date are as follows.
Friday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 14,00,00,000 apprx
MOTICHOOR CHAKNACHOOR showed growth on Saturday but collections are very low as the film has not even hit the 1 crore nett mark in two days.
The collections of MOTICHOOR CHAKNACHOOR are as follows.
Friday - 30,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 50,00,000 apprx

MARJAAVAAN had pretty well on day one as it collected 6.75-7 crore nett with good collections in mass pockets. The bigger multiplexes were not too strong but the film also did not have a huge number of screens at multiplexes also with the regular multiplex giving it one screen. Despite the business being over 2 crore nett less than BALA the footfalls of this film are similar to that film as it has a huge ratio of business coming from single screens and lower priced multiplexes.
The first day number is a good number for this film as the film does not have to cover much ground theatrically to be in the plus. This sort of opening ensures safety but whether the film can actually succeed will depend on Monday. The growth will be limited if any on Saturday as its the high end multiplexes which normally grow on Saturday and this film is not collecting there but Sunday will have to push and then it will be the crucial Monday which will tell if the film can sustain.
The film did very well in UP and Bihar with the latter collecting almost 40 lakhs nett while very good numbers UP took the Delhi/UP circuit total to 1.80 crore nett and this is with low numbers in Delhi and Noida. The other circuits to do well were CP Berar and Nizam with both collecting 45 lakhs each.
The other releases did not fare well with MOTICHOOR CHAKNACHOOR being the best of the lot with 30 lakhs nett while the Hollywood release FORD V FERRARI collected around 75-80 lakhs nett. The other Hollywood release CHARLIE'S ANGELS was poor with around 50-55 lakhs nett on day one.
