Neha Maheshwri (MUMBAI MIRROR; March 26, 2026)
Poonam Sinha recently revisited her modelling days after nearly 45 years, walking the ramp for a charity event focused on empowering the girl child and advocating equality, education, and respect. The moment was made even more special as she was joined on the runway by her son, Luv Sinha.
Recalling her return to the ramp, she says, “Sometime ago, I walked the ramp for a friend at a school bonsai exhibition. It was a very intimate, small event, and I guess that’s how it started again. I began modelling and walking the ramp when I was 14. It was a journey followed by beauty contests, after which I never looked back. I quit modelling after some years, but I didn’t miss it because by then I had moved on to films.”
She continues, “Uske baad Mr Sinha walked into my life. My life and my perspective changed after I got married. My Luv and Kush came along and, of course, meri jo bitiya rani aa gayi woh toh icing on the cake thi. So, the family felt complete with her arrival. It has been 45 years since I last walked the ramp. I was quite surprised to realize that I am still as confident as I was in the beginning.”
Speaking about sharing the moment with her son, she shares, “This walk felt ethereal because my son accompanied me. I had to ask Luv if he would walk with me, and more than me, he was thrilled to do it and be part of such a meaningful cause. I was very happy with the warm welcome I received. It was such a wonderful feeling ki dekho kitne confidence ke saath mera beta mera haath pakad kar chal raha hai. He hadn’t walked the ramp before, but he carried himself like a natural. It was a truly wonderful experience, walking alongside my son.”
Is Sonakshi getting married? She hasn’t told me anything about it-Shatrughan Sinha

HINDUSTAN TIMES (June 12, 2024)
Reports of Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s wedding have been the talk of the town since Sunday. The actors have been dating for over two years and reportedly plan to get married on June 23 with two-day festivities.
While they are yet to announce the wedding, family members have started addressing the news. Her father, actor-MP Shatrughan Sinha told Zoom: “I am in Delhi right now. After the election results, I flew down here. I haven’t spoken to anyone about my daughter’s plans. So your question is, is she getting married? The answer is that she hasn’t told me anything about it.”
The 77-year-old added, “Main bhi utna hi jaanta hun jitna maine media maine padha hai. If and when she takes me into confidence, my wife and I will give the couple my blessings. We wish her happiness and trust her judgement. She would never make an extra-constitutional or illegal decision. As a consenting adult, she has the right to make her own decisions.”
Even Sonakshi’s brother, Luv, had this to say in the matter, “I won’t be commenting. It’s better if you reach out to Sonakshi or the other person directly involved. All I can say is, I have nothing to say on this matter.”
Only those who think they can better a legend like my father, feel scared-Luv Sinha

Sharing the screen with dad Shatrughan in Gangs Of Ghaziabad, Luv says his only aim was to be sincere as it’s ‘foolish’ of anyone to think of outshining the veteran actor
Upala KBR (MID-DAY; May 29, 2024)
A new beginning awaits Shatrughan Sinha after a robust 54-year career. The veteran actor is set to make his web series debut with Gangs Of Ghaziabad, a crime drama set in Uttar Pradesh of the ’90s. While Nagender Choudhary’s show also stars Ashutosh Rana, Jatin Sarna and Sunny Leone, what makes it personally special for Sinha is that it unites him on screen with actor-son Luv Sinha for the first time.
Luv recalls being the last to know that he was a part of Gangs Of Ghaziabad. “Nagender ji narrated the script to Paa, who loved his character and immediately came on board. I was to fly to Dubai when Nagender ji asked me to drop in on the set. That’s when he told me that he had cast me too and I had an intense, emotional scene with Paa,” he smiles.
Working with his father had been a long-standing wish of the actor, who made his debut with Sadiyaan (2010). Was he nervous when it finally happened?
“Only those who think they can better a legend like my father, feel scared. When you know that the actor in front of you is a true artiste, it’s foolish to think that you can be better than him. You have to do your role with sincerity and not try to outshine him. This was something I was waiting my whole life for. I was grateful. I’d love to do a film with Paa. Abhishek [Bachchan] is blessed to work with Amit ji [Amitabh Bachchan] in so many movies.”
The veteran actor, who plays a politician in the series, wrapped up his portions in March.

Caught While DJing At B’luru Party, Gets Bail
THE TIMES OF INDIA (June 14, 2022)
Bengaluru: Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor’s son, Siddhanth Kapoor (37), and four others were arrested for consumption of drugs during a raid by Bengaluru city police at The Park Hotel, in the central business district here, late Sunday night. Siddhanth’s sister, Shraddha Kapoor, is also an actor.
According to police, Siddhanth, an actor and assistant director in Bollywood, was the DJ at a party in the hotel. The others arrested were Akhil Soni (28), business manager with a private firm; Harjoth Singh (28), operational head of a logistics firm; Akhil (23), a freelance photographer; and Hani Rafeeque (25), who is in digital marketing.
All five accused were released on station bail Monday midnight. ACP (east) Subramanyeshwar Rao said that Ulsoor police raided the hotel late on Sunday night based on a tip-off about the use of banned substances at the party.
“There were more than 100 people at the party, and some of them escaped from the premises. Police managed to catch 35 people and subjected them to medical examinations. Urine tests of five of those caught confirmed drug consumption,” said Rao. He added that Ulsoor police arrested the five youths and further procedures and investigations are underway.
The arrested were to be produced before a magistrate on Monday evening. According to sources, there were 14 women among the 35 who underwent medical tests.
DCP (east) Bheemashankar Guled said, “Siddhanth Kapoor, who is the son of Bollywood actor Shakti Kapoor, is among those who tested positive for drug consumption.”
Guled said, “The police team searched the premises and found two packets of drugs near the dustbin. There were seven MDMA tablets in one packet and ganja weighing around 5 to 10 gm in another packet. We have seized CCTV footage from the place and are verifying it to find out who threw the drugs into the dustbin. We will book them for peddling drugs and take appropriate action.”
Police officials said that the raid began around midnight and ended at around 3 am Monday.
Preliminary investigation reveals that a production house was behind the party. Police plan to serve notices on the hotel and party organisers. Karnataka home minister Araga Jnanendra said, “Bangalore police have arrested an actor on charges of drug consumption, and legal action will be taken. The government will take measures to curb the sale and use of drugs. We request everyone to join hands in the fight against drug addiction.”

Siddhanth aka DJ Bullzeye, who was the headlining act at the Sunday night party, is in custody for allegedly consuming drugs
Sunayana Suresh (BOMBAY TIMES; June 14, 2022)
Bollywood actor Siddhanth Kapoor made national headlines on Monday after police swooped down on a party at a Bengaluru hotspot on Sunday night. Siddhanth, son of actor Shakti Kapoor, was one of the five persons detained by the police.
Promotional material from the hotspot’s page showed that Siddhanth, who goes by the stage alias DJ Bullzeye, was the headlining act for the Sunday night poolside party.
Bengaluru City’s Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Bheemashankar S Guled told news agencies that they followed a tip-off and raided the hotel where the party was hosted. Samples of people suspected of having consumed drugs were sent for medical tests and Siddhanth’s sample was allegedly among those that was positive.
Bengaluru DCP (East) Bheemashankar Guled said that there were 35 people in the party and they were all subjected to medical tests to detect drug consumption. Five of them tested positive. “Siddhanth is among the five and we have detained all five and investigations are on,” Guled said.
Police said it was unclear whether they had consumed drugs at the hotel or had come to the party after taking drugs outside. Speaking to mediapersons, the police said, “This was a party open to the public. When we searched the premises, we found two packets, one of which had some MDMA tablets, while there was ganja in another.”
Police plan to check the CCTV footage to obtain evidence on who threw those packets to book them as peddlers under the NDPS Act. Police said that apart from Siddhanth, three of the people detained include Bengaluru residents, while one is from Punjab.

HINDUSTAN TIMES (June 14, 2022)
Actor Siddhanth Kapoor is the latest Bollywood celeb to get entangled in a drug controversy. The son of actor Shakti Kapoor and brother of actor Shraddha Kapoor, he was detained in Bengaluru after he was found allegedly consuming drugs at a rave party on Sunday night and tested positive for drugs in a blood report. ANI reported that the 37-year-old was detained along with five others during a police raid.
His father was in a state of shock as he woke up to the news. When contacted, Shakti said, “I’m in Mumbai and I don’t know what is happening. I got to know from news channels only. All I know as of now is that there is no arrest and Siddhanth has only been detained.” When we asked Shakti if Siddhanth was in Bengaluru for work, he shared, “Yes, he is a DJ (disc jockey) and he plays at parties, and that’s what he was in Bengaluru for. I don’t know where these reports are coming from.”
According to police, the rave party was going on at a posh hotel on MG Road on Sunday night. But Shakti remained unsure if it was the same party where his son was playing.
“I will talk to my son very soon and get the details. But I know this can’t be true,” he added. Siddhanth’s aunt, actor Tejaswini Kolhapure, was “not aware” of the entire episode when we rang her in to enquire about the news. “I have no idea. I have had a working day, and I’ve just woken up to this news,” she shared.
Siddhanth’s friend, actor Luv Sinha, however, took to Twitter to address his concern with multiple tweets: “I’m against the consumption of drugs, but until the rot in the justice system has been cleaned up, things won’t improve. Arrest the producers, dealers and not just the users who may get addicted to a substance that can affect their lives negatively and have an impact on so many others indirectly. I hope that my friend Siddhanth comes out of this stronger and wiser.”
Siddhanth has featured in films such as Shootout At Wadala (2013), Jazbaa (2015), Haseena Parkar (2017), among others.
Sonakshi, Luv and Kussh Sinha’s art venture set for inaugural show

The Sinha siblings will display their artworks, alongside several other budding artists
HINDUSTAN TIMES (April 5, 2022)
Actors Sonakshi Sinha, Luv Sinha and director Kussh Sinha’s art venture, which brought emerging artists to the fore, is holding its first offline exhibition. The exclusive, by-invite-only show, titled Locus of Control, driven by BMW Infinity Cars, Worli (Mumbai), is scheduled for April 9-10.
In July 2021, the Sinha siblings launched their venture titled House of Creativity. The online platform allows art aficionados to procure contemporary artworks from homegrown Indian talents. Their first offline foray is curated by Abhinit Khanna, assisted by Anushka Bhatnagar, and features select works, including paintings, photography, film, textile and new media, by contemporary House of Creativity artists such as Ali Akbar Mehta, Arvind Sundar, Digbijayee Khatua, Govinda Sah Azad, Kedar DK, Koshy Brahmatmaj, Sarika Mehta, Shalaka Patil, Tushar Waghela, Urvi Sethna, as well as Sonakshi, Luv and Kussh.
The goal behind the siblings’ venture was to help budding artists reach a wider audience, which was not always possible on their own, especially amid the pandemic. With the tide finally changing for the better, they want people to identify their hand-picked artists with their works, and that’s the reason behind the offline show.
Sonakshi, a self-taught artist, is thrilled about the venture’s inaugural exhibition and also about showcasing her new series of acrylic on canvas. “My works are about colours and a lot of my identity, but not in an obvious, in-your-face manner. They are my interpretation of self-portraits,” she says.
Luv, who will be displaying two of his photography works, adds, “Our primary goal is to display works of artists on-board at House of Creativity. It’s a huge responsibility to give them a platform... As for my photographs, they are all about energy, colours and positivity.”
Continuing the discussion, Kussh states, “Art is a way of giving your creativity a physical form. Even if I take a digital photograph, how I set the frame or what subjects draw me in, that’s personal. For me, art signifies a memory that causes me to ponder.”
The exhibition will also have a panel talk, besides transmedia artist Ali Akbar Mehta executing a new media artwork intervention inside a brand new BMW 7 series on display. Surely worth taking a dekko!
We need younger people to get into politics-Sonakshi Sinha

The actress says she is proud of her brother Luv Sinha’s entry into politics, and that she has no inclination to follow suit
Onkar Kulkarni (BOMBAY TIMES; December 14, 2020)
Sonakshi’s brother and actor, Luv Sinha, surprised all as he followed his father Shatrughan Sinha’s footsteps into politics. The actor, who made his Bollywood debut with Sadiyaan (2010) and was last seen in Paltan (2018), contested in the recent assembly elections in Bihar. After Shatrughan, his wife Poonam, and now, Luv joining politics, when we asked Sonakshi if she, too, would surprise us with such a step someday, she said, “I don’t have any such plans.” Talking about her brother’s stint in politics, she added, “I am very happy that Luv took the step, because he has the aptitude for it. He is well connected and informed about what’s going on in politics. I think he did a very good job while he was at it.”
About his defeat, she elaborates, “Of course, the outcome wasn’t what we would have wanted, but I am proud of him for the way he handled himself and the connection he made with the people of Bihar. I am happy he took the step as we need younger people to get into politics.”
Back from a mini-vacation in the Maldives, the actress is already thinking about her New Year celebrations. “I usually take off and travel to some new place to bring in the New Year, though, this year I don’t know if I will be able to do that. After a long break due to the pandemic, I might just resume the shoot of my digital project. Maybe, I will go to somewhere close by,” says Sonakshi.
I run away from the paparazzi sometimes-Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha on her ‘happy’ space, sharing the screen with dad, working on her music and looking the best she ever has
Natasha Coutinho (MUMBAI MIRROR; August 10, 2018)
Sonakshi Sinha, who takes over from Diana Penty to take the Happy Bhaag Jayegi franchise forward with Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi, believes that happiness is a state of mind and one needs to look for it in the smallest of things. “That’s the only way to stay happy,” she says.
The 31-year-old actress plays a Punjabi kudi in the film and insists that it was a cakewalk because even though dad Shatrughan is Bihari and mom Poonam Sindhi, she has very Punjabi traits and a playlist of only Punjabi songs. “I walk, dance and speak like a Punjabi so it was the most natural thing for me to play a character like Happy. Also, I’m not very glamorous in real life, I only look glamorous for my profession and even on screen, I mostly play simple girls whom the aam aadmi can identify with, which is the idea,” she adds.
Recalling her first meeting with the romcom’s producer, Aanand L Rai, she describes him as a “sweet and simple man” with whom she immediately connected on a spiritual level. “We spoke for an hour-and-a-half about food, the films we want to make and only five minutes about this film,” she recalls, showing no signs of pressure coming into a successful series, pointing out that people loved the first film and the original characters who are in this film as well. “That makes the job easier and the response has been positive so far,” she says. Ask her what this Happy is running away from and she says, “The paparazzi, sometimes.”
After eight years, Sonakshi will finally be sharing the screen with her dad in
Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se in a song and raving about the
experience she admits that working with him had been on her wish list
for a long time but surprisingly has not happened in a full-fledged
film. “For now, I am honoured to be sharing the screen with three
legends Dharam ji (Dharmendra),
Rekha ji and dad,” she avers, adding she has grown up with Esha and
Ahana Deol. “I played many Holis in their house with Hema ji and Dharam
uncle. Even today when we meet, Dharam uncle wonders if I’m going to
complain about them. Esha and my brothers (Luv and Kush) would gang up
and bully me. But now we can laugh about it. They are amazing family
friends.”

Interestingly, Luv’s second film, J P Dutta’s Paltan opens a week after hers. “I’m happy because this is the kind of film he always wanted to do and I can’t wait to watch his film,” says Sonakshi whose upcoming projects include Karan Johar’s period drama Kalank, in which she is paired with Aditya Roy Kapur, and the Arbaaz Khan-produced Dabangg 3, opposite Salman Khan. She suddenly clams up, pointing out that it’s too early to speak about them. “The Kalank shoot is still on and Dabangg 3 hasn’t even started yet,” she demurs, saying the latter is homeground because she started her career with the Khans and is here today because of them. “Doing a Dabangg with Salman or going with him on a Da-Bangg concert is like homecoming for me.”
The actress has just returned from a tour with him that also had Jacqueline Fernandez, Katrina Kaif and Daisy Shah and says that it’s a myth that girls can’t have fun. “In this age of social media, we are in touch all the time and during the tour, we all worked out and ate together,” she reveals.
Sonakshi is looking her fittest and she confides that earlier she would cheat on her diet, but over the last six months she has been consistent with her workouts and careful about what she eats. The effort has clearly paid off. “I’ve surprised myself with my own commitment. It’s been tough but rewarding. The compliments are coming in,” she says.
In her upcoming film, she has sung a new version of “Mera Naam Chin Chin Choo” with co-star Jassi Gill and goes on to reveal that she’s recorded a couple of other songs. After the release of Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi, she plans to shoot the music videos and release them. “I want singing to be an extension of what I’m already doing. I also paint when I have the time. The last few months have been super busy and I haven’t painted anything new, but I have a collection of over 30 paintings and I definitely want to exhibit those, hopefully soon,” she says
Grand star cast of J P Dutta's Paltan revealed

Two decades after Border,
and nearly a decade-and a-half after Refugee and LOC: Kargil, JP Dutta
is back with a new battalion ready for combat. The filmmaker's next,
Paltan, is a war drama based on the Indo-China War of 1962. The
director, who has also written the film and will produce it under his
banner JP Films, has already found jawans who will
play India's real-life war heroes. While Dutta, like his previous
outings, plans to rope in actual soldiers for the movie, his Bollywood
brigade includes Abhishek Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Pulkit Samrat, Suniel
Shetty, Sonu Sood, Jimmy Sheirgill, Luv Sinha, Siddhant Khapoor and
Jackie Shroff.
He says, “It's time we diverted our attention to our other neighbour, who is a bigger threat than Pakistan. A mighty power in world politics, China is claiming Arunachal Pradesh as a part of its territory . Even their map shows the state as a part of their country. During the 1962 war, China took over a large part of Ladakh and feels that the remaining area belongs to it, too. It's a discussion waiting to happen, which makes my film's subject relevant.“
Plenty of films have attempted to touch upon the 1962 war, including the National Awardwinning Haqeeqat (1964), which starred Dharmendra, Balraj Sahni and Priya Rajvansh. Bring this up, and Dutta says, “People will always make comparisons. I don't know what others have done, but I'm sticking to history. This is the time to address some hard-hitting questions about the history of India's relations with China. I have the Central government's support on the project and can't wait to get started on the set.“
The film goes on floors later this year and is scheduled for a summer 2018 release.

People shouldn’t be given the liberty to talk loosely about anyone-Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha gets into action mode, talks films and fitness, but steers clear about discussing a certain someone
Shaheen Parkar (MID-DAY; October 30, 2016)
Sonakshi Sinha is cheery and laughs a lot. The actress is clearly in a good mood, ready to take on any poser — well almost. We meet her at producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s office in Andheri where she is promoting her next, Force 2 which has John Abraham as co- star. Her manager hovers around making sure not a strand of hair is out of place making the photographer ask: “Is that the only thing you are concerned about?” The manager still feels the well coiffured hair-do is out of place. Sona, however, keeps posing with her manager evey now and then, ensuring her mane looks perfect. The star has been in the spotlight for her weight issues. She appears even more leaner than when we last saw her, so we begin with what she would love to hear...
You are looking even more fitter. Have you managed to give a fitting reply to your weight critics?
(laughs) Actually it’s more to do with a lifestyle change. As I am doing one film at a time, I can follow an exercise routine and watch my diet. It has happened organically over a long period of time. I can say it has taken its own sweet time. After working with John (Abraham) in Force 2 there is the added motivation.
How has Force 2 co- star John Abraham inspired you?
John is so strict when it comes to fitness. He will literally take the unhealthy stuff out of your mouth. I did not have any control over my food till I met John. It was good to learn a lot from him and take it back with you. He has been a big inspiration for me. There is no scope to give up on your fitness drive, when he is around. And, also the kind of films I have been doing require me to be in ship-shape.
With Akira and Force 2, do you consider you are an action star?
For me, it is the character. It is a coincidence that one followed the other. It was not a deliberate plan, it just came my way. In Akira, I was taking on the baddies. In Force 2, I play a RAW agent. It is a strong character to portray; something I had never done before. If actors can do it repeatedly, why not actresses?
Do you find the action genre exciting?
I have been an athletic person since my school days. So it keeps me engaged in something I like to do. I enjoy sports, it’s fun for me. It is not taxing for me.
Your last outing Akira did not well...
Everyone expected it to do well. Everyone had high expectations of it. For me, it was a great acting with a great director (A R Murugadoss). I was part of a good film. In fact, the martial arts training in Akira came handy for Force 2. I had already reached a certain level of fitness. An actor should play any kind of role.
You are also pursuing music.
Singing is something I enjoy doing. I sing because I want to, but I know my limitations as I am not a trained singer.
Two years ago you had film production plans.
Yes, along with my brothers (Luv and Kush), we are keen to revive the home banner. But such things take a lot of time. So it is still a plan in progress.
You recently changed your publicists. Do you want to reinvent yourself?
Yes, there has been a change. That’s because I am open to working with a lot of people.
You guard your personal life zealously. Anything written about you affects you.
If anything that is written about me affects me, I will tweet about it. If you ignore it people take the liberty to say whatever they want.
But you are a star...
I cannot ignore it. People shouldn’t be given the liberty to talk loosely about anyone.
If you are spotted with someone, there is bound to be speculation.
I get spotted with so many people, so why pick on one particular person? Drawing a conclusion is up to you.
So what is it about you and a certain Bunty Sajdeh?
(laughs) No comments.
(And the manager says the interview is over. We had saved this question for the last, anyways).
