FUKREY RETURNS is still playing in theaters and will finish with around 78.50 crore nett business. The film would have got close to 90 crore nett but TIGER ZINDA HAI got in the way as can be seen with the collections below. The film took a huge dip in collections in the third week as TIGER ZINDA HAI took over at the box office.

Still the film will be one of the real successful films among smaller films. AASHIQUI 2 is the biggest but along with THE DIRTY PICTURE, FUKREY RETURNS comes next on the list. In fact considering the cast of THE DIRTY PICTURE and FUKREY RETURNS, you would put the latter higher.

JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE will probably go and do business of over 50 crore nett which will make it the fourth highest Hollywood grosser of 2017 after FAST & FURIOUS 8, THOR: RAGNAROK and SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING.

FUKREY RETURNS had a drop in business in week three as TIGER ZINDA HAI released but still the film has done very well. Despite the media talk about how small films are doing well its just talk. Generally small films find it tough and they get good numbers thanks to tax exemptions or when there is an audience at big multiplexes who came in and watch these films at high rates which enables some business. But FUKREY RETURNS is an exception, it is a small film which has genuinely done very well and it took TIGER ZINDA HAI to stop it. Otherwise if this film was released two weeks earlier it is likely that it would have done 10-12 crore nett more business and actually emerged a BLOCKBUSTER film. The drop on the second Friday has turned out to be just 20% and they way the film is going in North its going to be a huge jump on Saturday. The film is probably looking at business in the 75 crore nett region and could be higher if it can get some decent numbers post the release of TIGER ZINDA HAI. The film is also the biggest HIT for the actors, director and producers involved in the film. The producers Excel Entertainment have made big films with big stars like DON, DON 2 and ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA but FUKREY RETURNS is easily a bigger HIT than all those films.

The film is on course to become one of the highest grossing small films of all time. The two films it chases are THE DIRTY PICTURE and AASHIQUI 2 both of which did around 80 crore nett. THE DIRTY PICTURE can sort of be taken out of the equation as it had an ensemble cast so together this cast gave it some value and a 30 crore budget in 2011 is far more than 30 crore today.

FUKREY RETURNS had a very good first week as it grossed 49.50 crore nett which is the 12th highest first week collection of the year. It has beaten bigger films like JAGGA JASOOS, HALF GIRLFRIEND and SECRET SUPERSTAR by a margin. It even compares well with a film with BAADSHAHO which had a big holiday in its first seven day run and grossed 54.23 crore nett. Never has a film which cost around 30 crore has collected such a first week figure. THE DIRTY PICTURE in 2011 which had an investment of 30 crore apprx collected 48.41 crore nett. It will also cross the share of HINDI MEDIUM which is the only HIT small film of the year in nine days flat.

FUKREY RETURNS has been driven by excellent numbers in North India as East Punjab collects 6.75 crore nett apprx and Delhi/UP a huge 15 crore nett apprx. To put these first week collections of Delhi /UP into perspective is that they are higher than BADRINATH KI DULHANIA, BAADSHAHO, JAB HARRY MET SEJAL and KAABIL. These are the eighth highest first week collections of 2017 in Delhi/UP.  Mumbai circuit was 11 crore nett which pales into comparison with Delhi/UP but these are still good numbers for the circuit. The film has also fared well in Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI and Bihar while other circuits are average.

FUKREY RETURNS is a HIT and now its about that second Friday and can it collect well enough to have a chance of emerging a SUPER HIT film.

FUKREY RETURNS continued to do well on Tuesday as it grossed around 4.75 crore nett which is a drop of just 5% from the previous day. The first week business of the film is going to 50 crore nett or at least very close to 50 crore nett. It is about the second Friday where this film goes, if there is a limited Thursday to Friday drop then this film is going to put up a very big number which will be possibly one of the highest for films which have an investment of 30 crore or under. The total in four days is 37.75 crore nett apprx and the week should go very close to around 50 crore nett depending on the next few days. North India continues with huge collections with an 2.50 crore nett contribution from Delhi/UP and East Punjab. The film is past the likes of BAREILLY KI BARFI and TUMHARI SULU in just four days and the highest grossing small film of the year HINDI MEDIUM at 63 crore nett is looking a easy target for FUKREY RETURNS. The smaller films always have a chance of holding but its the opening which can really make a difference for them and that is where FUKREY RETURNS has scored.

FUKREY RETURNS did very well in its first weekend to collect 31.50 crore nett plus as Sunday added in the 12.50-12.75 crore nett range. The growth on Sunday was held back by the Delhi NCR area which was at a very high level already. The Delhi/UP collections have gone over 10 crore nett for the weekend to around 10.50 crore nett which is simply huge for a film like this. Mumbai is around 9 crore when the average is Mumbai to be better than Delhi/UP by around 30% for most films. The Mumbai figures itself are good which shows the sort of acceptance the film has found in the North. The film should see a good trend on Monday as the Delhi/UP and East Punjab markets tend to hold better post the weekend especially the former but if Mumbai can start matching Delhi/UP later on in the week or in the second week that is what will take the film to a totally different another level.

FUKREY RETURNS is a HIT film as it showed 35-40% growth on day two and collected 11 crore nett. The growth came practically all over and the film is looking set for a good run. North India has scored big for the film with Delhi NCR and East Punjab being excellent and the big bonus being UP which is recording collections very rarely seen for a non star cast film. The acceptance in places like UP and Rajasthan has turned out to be a big plus for the film. The first weekend will go over 30 crore nett for the film and that is nearly as much as FUKREY (2013) which grossed 34.75 crore nett apprx.

Mumbai gained around 40% for the film which is very important for the film as if this circuit holds well for the film it can do a very big number as North India is already doing fantastic numbers.

FUKREY RETURNS collected a very good 8 crore nett on its first day with collections in Delhi/UP and East Punjab being excellent. The youth came in the early shows which was sort of expected as the it is humour for the youth but with the film going to 8 crore nett, it seems the older audience and families have also come out in the evening because despite the film opening to good numbers it still looked less than 8 crore nett for day one. This is one of the biggest opening days for a film without any face value. It could even be the biggest ever and that's not counting BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION.

The collections are crazy in East Punjab with 1.10 crore nett as it beats many bigger films like KAABIL and BAADSHAHO and even the Superhit BADRINATH KI DULHANIA. Delhi/UP is like East Punjab. It is on course for a strong weekend and looks on course to emerge a HIT film but of course that can only determined by Monday unless Saturday goes crazy and records huge numbers. There is a chance of growth on Saturday even with this big number on day one but not the sort that is expected for a small film as with this opening it goes out of the ranks as a small film. FUKREY RETURNS may turn out to be that rare film which surpasses expectations and theses films are very few and far between.

FUKREY RETURNS is the biggest opening ever for films without face value as far as the box office is concerned. The numbers of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY are higher but they were big budget films and it could even be argued that M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY has some face because the hero had a success prior but that does not really mean face value and probably needed a popular heroine to say it had real face value. Nevertheless it was about Dhoni and that was the face value but when we talk face value its the stars.

The BAAHUBALI face value came from a spectacle of a film and and an unprecedented craze while M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY and SACHIN: A BILLION DREAMS had the famous cricket names attached to them which was the face value. Simply put never has a film in the bracket of FUKREY RETURNS got these sort of opening numbers.
