FUKREY RETURNS collected a very good 8 crore nett on its first day with collections in Delhi/UP and East Punjab being excellent. The youth came in the early shows which was sort of expected as the it is humour for the youth but with the film going to 8 crore nett, it seems the older audience and families have also come out in the evening because despite the film opening to good numbers it still looked less than 8 crore nett for day one. This is one of the biggest opening days for a film without any face value. It could even be the biggest ever and that's not counting BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION.

The collections are crazy in East Punjab with 1.10 crore nett as it beats many bigger films like KAABIL and BAADSHAHO and even the Superhit BADRINATH KI DULHANIA. Delhi/UP is like East Punjab. It is on course for a strong weekend and looks on course to emerge a HIT film but of course that can only determined by Monday unless Saturday goes crazy and records huge numbers. There is a chance of growth on Saturday even with this big number on day one but not the sort that is expected for a small film as with this opening it goes out of the ranks as a small film. FUKREY RETURNS may turn out to be that rare film which surpasses expectations and theses films are very few and far between.

FUKREY RETURNS is the biggest opening ever for films without face value as far as the box office is concerned. The numbers of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION and M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY are higher but they were big budget films and it could even be argued that M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY has some face because the hero had a success prior but that does not really mean face value and probably needed a popular heroine to say it had real face value. Nevertheless it was about Dhoni and that was the face value but when we talk face value its the stars.

The BAAHUBALI face value came from a spectacle of a film and and an unprecedented craze while M S DHONI - THE UNTOLD STORY and SACHIN: A BILLION DREAMS had the famous cricket names attached to them which was the face value. Simply put never has a film in the bracket of FUKREY RETURNS got these sort of opening numbers. The top openings which did not have a presence of a face well known to the Hindi audience or a combination of faces known to the audience are as follows.
