DISHOOM grossed 1.50 crore nett apprx on its second Monday taking its lifetime business to around 64.50 crore nett. The second week seems to be heading for around 15 crore nett which is better than the 12.57 crore nett of BAAGHI. Compared to films last year it is in the same range as films like DRISHYAM and DIL DHADAKNE DO. The second weekend figures for DISHOOM are as follows.
Friday - 2,25,000,000
Saturday - 3,25,00,000
Sunday - 4,25,00,000
Monday - 1,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 11,25,00,000
The other releases of the week were dull on Monday with BUDHIA SINGH - BORN TO RUN grossing around 15 lakhs nett which is not a huge from from Friday but that's because the collections are hardly there. FEVER and THE LEGEND OF MICHAEL MISHRA were no different where the drops were not huge but both were in single digits. SUICIDE SQUAD is heading for a 14 crore nett first week as it dropped around 55% from day one. Despite reasonable first week business it will struggle to add in week two due to the release of MOHENJO DARO and RUSTOM

DISHOOM had a decent second weekend of around 10 crore nett taking it business to close to 63 crore nett. The second weekend is the sixth highest of the year after SULTAN, AIRLIFT, HOUSEFULL 3, NEERJA and KAPOOR & SONS. The second weekend is better than the other hit film of the year BAAGHI. The drop from the first weekend is 72% which is par for the course. The film has performed best in Mumbai crossing 20 crore nett in the circuit in ten days. The eastern region is poor with Bihar being so so while West Bangal, Assam and Odisha have just not collected. The second weekend figures for DISHOOM are as follows:
Friday - 2,25,000,000
Saturday - 3,25,00,000
Sunday - 4,25,00,000
TOTAL - 9,75,00,000
The film would have crossed 70 crore nett comfortably as 4-5 crore nett would have come after the second week but with two big films MOHENJO DARO and RUSTOM clashing on Friday. It is going to be very tough for DISHOOM to add much to its total after this week. Basically the end of this week could see its run ended abruptly.

DISHOOM had a fair hold on its Friday with collections around 2.25-2.50 crore nett. There is a drop from the first day but if we compare with Thursday the collections are down 20% only which is a good result for the film. The film has caught up to BAAGHI despite having a lower opening as the collections every day in week one were less than BAAGHI. But on day eight the film has managed to edge past the BAAGHI numbers. So DISHOOM should manage to get a better second week than that film if the big growth comes over the weekend. The total collections of the film now are 55 crore nett plus. The film is facing a 77% drop from day one but that percentage should go down as Saturday and Sunday will show better growth than the first weekend.
The growth on Saturday becomes extra important as it will not get many screens next week due to the clash between MOHENJO DARO and RUSTOM. So basically it has this week to do the whatever business it can. The weekend can go to around 10 crore nett if real growth comes over the weekend. The poor response to all the films except SUICIDE SQUAD has helped its cause on day eight.
The Hollywood release SUICIDE SQUAD which was the only film to get some sort of initial yesterday did well on its opening day collecting around 3 crore nett. There was not much of a jump in the evening so it may not be a huge growth film but still day one is decent. The film has not been dubbed and the collections have all come from the English version and that is what it makes a pretty good first day figure. The other Hollywood release JASON BOURNE which also had a dubbed version fared poorly with around 1.50 crore nett.

DISHOOM had a fair first week of around 52.50 crore nett apprx. The film had a decent weekend and did drop on Monday but managed to stabilize on Tuesday though on Wednesday there was a noticeable drop again. The first week collections are the sixth highest of the year and are better than films like BABY and TAMASHA from last year which had bigger stars. The best collections for the film are in Mumbai circuit with around 17.50 crore nett. The film should have done better in North but the Punjabi film BAMBUKAT made the Punjab collections well below the mark. The Eastern India circuits also did not fare well though Gujarat and Central belts were reasonable. The top first week collections of 2016 are as follows.
1. Sultan - 2,08,99,00,000
2. Housefull 3 - 80,02,00,000
3. Airlift - 79,29,00,000
4. Fan - 71,42,00,000
5. Baaghi - 59,68,00,000
6. Dishoom - 52,50,00,000 apprx
The film will depend on where the second Friday lands and then can it grow big on Saturday and Sunday. Last week the limited growth on Saturday was the key factor why it held back from putting up a good first week but this Saturday should see big growth. Before Saturday, the Friday number has to be as close to the Thursday number as possible. The big plus is weak competition which has meant it has held on to 6-7 screenings per day in the main multiplexes.

DISHOOM struggled on Monday with collections of around 4.75 crore nett. The drop from Friday is around 55% which is on the higher side. It would have been okay if the opening was higher but from the start it got it had to hold up better on Monday. Despite that solid Sunday jump for the film there was always a chance that the limited Saturday growth would make it tough on the weekdays. The film may be a commercial action comedy film but its on the urban side so it had to be big city multiplexes that drove the film and. They are best on Saturday and so a big Saturday becomes a must which did not happen with DISHOOM. The falls are there practically all over with UP being hit hardest. The first four day figures for DISHOOM are as follows.
Friday - 11,00,00,000
Saturday - 11,75,00,000
Sunday - 14,25,00,000
Monday - 4,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 41,75,00,000
DISHOOM is probably heading for a first week of around 52-53 crore nett. There is an open week next week so if it can hold well today (Tuesday) and again on Friday then it could push itself to the average mark but that is a best case scenario.

DISHOOM has had a decent weekend of around 37 crore nett in its first weekend. The collections are middling, not good but not bad also and the trend is also fair if we take the whole weekend into account. But limited Saturday growth is an issue and may tell on the film in the long run. The North has not quite performed for the film though East Punjab has an excuse with BAMBUKAT probably taking close to 1 crore out of the film but Delhi/UP is also not what it should be. North India was the likely driver of the film with it being a glossy action film and it remains to be seen if Delhi and Punjab can perform better over the next ten days or so which would really help its cause. The first weekend figures for DISHOOM are as follows.
Friday - 11,00,000,000
Saturday - 11,75,00,000
Sunday - 14,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 37,25,00,000
Mumbai circuit was the best performer with business of 12 crore nett apprx but Mumbai circuit tends to come down on Monday more than other circuits unless its a Maharashtra or Gujarat based film which has been accepted. A huge chunk of the Saturday growth came in Mumbai. The weekdays are crucial for the film especially Monday and it needs better than average trend to get a fair end result. The plus is weak releases next week which gives it a good two week run but it can only benefit from that if weekdays sustain.

DISHOOM grossed a decent 11 crore nett on day one giving it the sixth best opening of the year after SULTAN, FAN, HOUSEFULL 3, BAAGHI and AIRLIFT. Its a decent number especially if the film can improve well on Saturday and Sunday which is a must as without solid growth on both Saturday and Sunday it won't go far. The film was on the lower side in metro multiplexes though it was better than BAAGHI in the metros but could not compare in the tier 2 and 3 cities with that film despite doing doing pretty well itself. The Punjabi film BAMBUKAT hit in East Punjab more than enough so collections stayed below the AIRLIFT opening day numbers.
The film grossed 3.50 crore nett apprx in Mumbai, 2.25 crore nett apprx in Delhi/UP and 1.10 crore nett approx in East Punjab. The film will be have to be driven by these areas in terms of growth especially on Saturday.
The other releases like LOVE KE FUNDAY, MISSION TIGERS and MURDER MADHURI were as expected with little or no collections.
