Bholaa collects 53.40 cr in Week 1

Tabu Announces Wrap Of Bholaa With Ajay Devgn: 'Look... We Finished Our 9th Film Together'

BHOLAA came down on Wednesday as it collected 2.50 crore nett which is a huge 40% down on Tuesday. The drop should have been much lower. It was a holiday on Tuesday but the jump was minimal as a lot of that holiday factor may have been in the collections of Monday.

This takes the film to 51 crore nett in its first seven days and now the expectations for a 90 crore nett number come down as 90 crore nett seems impossible unless it has a miraculous week two which goes towards the 25 crore nett mark. But that's very unlikely as 20 crore nett collection in the second week may be tough.

BHOLAA faced a drop everywhere including the better markets like Delhi/UP. The film could hold up well on the last day of the week due to this big drop and collect around 53.25-53.50 crore nett for the extended first week.

The seven day collections of BHOLAA are as follows.
Thursday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 6,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 12,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 4,15,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 4,35,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 51,00,00,000 apprx
--------------------------------------
BHOLAA had a low first week of around 53.50 crore nett as collections came down after Tuesday. There was a major drop on Wednesday though collections were stable the next day. The Thursday should have ended with collections of 3 crore nett or higher but it has ended 20% below that mark.

This collections of the film should be aided by Good Friday today but there have been a few releases today which means screen space lost at multiplexes. There is nothing major but two Hollywood releases and a Hindi film GUMRAAH combined takes away the screen space. These film are not an issue in mass belts but there the problem is Ramazan which is holding back collections to an extent.

The best numbers will come from Delhi/UP though they are not good. Generally the film has underperformed everywhere though for this type of film and its probably mass circuits where the film has underperformed more. The bigger multiplex collections are respectable for this type of heavy action film.

The extended first week collections of BHOLAA are as follows.
Thursday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 6,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 12,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 4,15,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 4,35,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 2,40,00,000 apprx
TOTAL -53,40,00,000 apprx

BHOLAA showed a little upturn on Tuesday which was a holiday in some parts of the country for Mahavir Jayanti. The film collected 4.35-4.50 crore nett taking its total to 48.50 crore nett. The jump should have been more but its possible that some of the jump was factored into the collections on Monday.

The film now is probably heading for a first week of around 55 crore nett as there is likely to be a drop today (Wednesday). There is a holiday on Friday which should mean collections can improve on Friday or at the worst do not drop. The best performing market of the film is likely to be Delhi/UP which follows Pathaan and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar which were also strong in Delhi/UP.

BHOLAA has chances of hitting the AVERAGE mark if it can sustain well from here. The low weekend hit any chances the film had of becoming a HIT.

The six day collections of BHOLAA are as follows.
Thursday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 6,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 12,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 4,15,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 4,35,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 48,50,00,000 apprx

BHOLAA held up well on Monday as it collected 4-4.25 crore nett which is a drop 35% apprx from Friday. The Thursday release hit the Friday collections and hence, it was a low Friday for the film. These was a little boost on Monday evening for BHOLAA due to Mahavir Jayanti on Tuesday but even allowing for that, its a decent trend.

The film trended better in mass pockets as some mass areas do better on Monday anyway and it is a holiday in most of the Hindi states on Tuesday. The Monday performance is the best in mass belts if we look at the ratio of business and that includes the first day.

The collections of the film so far are 44 crore nett plus and the film should do 55 crore at least over the week and it could be more depending on how it behaves today (Tuesday). The film will have a holiday on Friday also to start the second week on a good note. A 90-100 crore nett result will be seen as a very good result in the industry. In terms of costs, it will not really be but due to the prevailing situation and its a very heavy action film which have limited youth audience, it will be seen as a decent result.

The five day collections of BHOLAA are as follows.
Thursday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 6,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 12,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 4,15,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 44,15,00,000 apprx

BHOLAA did well on Sunday as it jumped well across all the mass circuits and collected around 12.75 crore nett for an overall jump of around 20%. Despite the Sunday jump, the extended weekend business is on the lower side. The weekend total was 40 crore nett but its over four days. The same total in three days would have been pretty good.

The mass pockets have not given the numbers they should have for an action film like this which is actually being driven by the multiplexes. This might be due to Ramazan or maybe as more of the mass market audience has seen the original Tamil film. The 3D factor also gives a better chance for higher collections at multiplexes.

The film should get a Monday push in the evening in various centres as it is a holiday on Tuesday but it has to hold well from here. The film really has to a lot of work to do to emerge a HIT and a more realistic aim is success and that too because there are a few holidays which it can benefit from Eid.

The four day collections of BHOLAA are as follows.
Thursday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 6,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 12,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 40,00,00,000 apprx

BHOLAA did pretty well on Saturday as multiplexes did well for the film to edge past the first day numbers which were aided by a partial holiday. The film collected around 10.50-10.75 crore nett on Saturday to take its total to over 27 crore nett for the first three days. The growth from Friday was around 60%.

The Sunday is crucial for the film as mass circuits are underperforming. The collections in UP were still around 20% below the first day and a circuit like CI is yet to see the film hit 50 lakh on any day and a film in this zone with Ajay Devgn should easily be doing that. There is a Ramazan hit which is affecting single screens and smaller multiplex business in many centres. It could even be that the original film from South has travelled and been consumed in these areas leading to lesser collections.

The better collections of the film are coming from Mumbai, Delhi NCR and East Punjab but that has to change as UP, Rajasthan Bihar have to do better on Sunday.

The three day collections of BHOLAA are as follows.
Thursday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 6,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 10,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 27,25,00,000 apprx

BHOLAA saw a drop in collections on day two as it picked up 6.50 crore nett. The drop was always coming but is on the higher side and the film has a total of 16.75 crore nett in two days. The response to the film at a cinema level is decent but its pretty clear that Ramazan is affecting the film hugely as where exhibitors are seeing this decent response, the sort of collections that should come are not coming.

The fact that a circuit like East Punjab is the out performer for this film which is multiplex heavy circuit and been a dull performer post pandemic and has a limited Muslim audience pretty much tells the story and the problem. There had to be far more urgency to watch the film to get this audience out and even though the response is decent, it seems a task to get this mass crowd out over Ramadan.

In Nizam/Andhra, the local film DASARA is doing decent but BHOLAA is very dull because for Hindi films, the Muslim crowd forms most of the audience. The footfalls are down post pandemic and if a mass film is to come pre Eid, it will have to be one with a craze otherwise it will be only multiplex centric films which can score in this period. The film has the weekend to come but looking at the numbers from mass circuits, its going to be a struggle as these areas should be doing much better but Ramazan is holding them back.

The two day collections of BHOLAA are as follows.
Thursday - 10,25,00,000 apprx
Friday - 6,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 16,75,00,000 apprx
