Actor Ankita Lokhande and her businessman husband Vicky Jain are celebrating their first wedding anniversary, today, by going on their long-pending honeymoon. The two have jetted off to Europe for a vacation, and admit that they will make the most of the holiday.

“We have completed one year as husband-wife, but we usually don’t get time to travel. Our honeymoon had been pending since last year, so we are celebrating our first anniversary this way,” Lokhande says.

Jain chimes in, “Both of us love winter, so we thought it would be better to explore Europe in this weather.”

Jain also talks about their other plans: “Agar possible hua toh har teen saal mein shaadi karenge hum.”

Lokhande reiterates, saying, “I want to renew our vows, especially after having kids. I would want them to see how their mummy and papa got married,” she says.

In the one year, the couple managed to rack up many milestones — from starring in a reality show to buying a new abode. Lokhande reveals that she has been collecting all these memories on a hard drive, for viewing later. “I didn’t cry at my wedding because I was very excited. Today, when I look at the footage I cry because it was so beautiful. I make it a point to show it to everyone who comes to our house,” she says.

According to them, they got on this journey “pretty late”, and are now in a rush to do many things together. “Do good work, have a family… We are ready for any moment to come in our life,” they say as while wrapping up the chat with us.

Vicky Jain motivates me to try different things-Ankita Lokhande

It has been over a month of revelry and bliss for Ankita Lokhande who tied the knot with Vicky Jain in mid-December. Now, work has come calling. The actor will be seen in the second season of Pavitra Rishta: It’s Never Too Late alongside Shaheer Sheikh. She is glad that Sheikh has been accepted in a role that was immortalised by the late Sushant Singh Rajput. “I was sure Shaheer would slip into the character of Manav because he is a great actor. Be it Sushant or some other actor, what matters is that people should be able to connect [with the actor], and the chemistry [between the leads] should work,” says Lokhande.

The revival of Pavitra Rishta last year was not an easy ride. While a section of the audience had cheered Sheikh on, many were irked to see another actor step into Rajput’s shoes. Did the polarising response upset her? “There will be people who will talk [ill of you], and then, there will be those who like your work. I look at the positive side; there is no point in seeing the negative side.”

The second edition of the ZEE5 series begins with central characters Manav and Archana living separately due to a misunderstanding. Asked how it feels to return to work after marriage, Lokhande credits her husband for encouraging her to take up interesting projects. “Vicky is supportive as a husband. He is the one who motivates me to try out different things in life; he pushes me to go and work. That means a lot to me because you need that kind of support. I truly feel like Archana now. It’s a beautiful space to be in.”

Bhikari log badh gaye hain, says Usha Nadkarni on being offered less money for work

Vinay MR Mishra (HINDUSTAN TIMES; January 24, 2022)

Veteran actor Usha Nadkarni was last seen in the digital redux of the popular TV show Pavitra Rishta. However, she has been away from the TV screen for a while. Ask her why and without mincing her words, the 75-year-old says, “Bhikari log badh gaye hain.”

Explaining her sentiment, Nadkarni adds, “Everybody wants people to work for cheap (amounts), which I don’t agree to. I tell them to find someone else. Every actor is different and has their style. I know what I bring to the table. I have my style. If I am not getting the money, I might as well rest at my place. So, I call these people bhikari, who offer me work, but no money.”

Nadkarni, a renowned face in the Marathi industry, reveals she often gets called to slam her price: “There are so many people who come to me and ask me to work at a lesser price. When I tell them my budget, unko dhadak-dhadak hota hai. I am not somebody who entertains drama. And if somebody disrespects me, I leave the conversation. Yes, I do want to work, I cannot live without acting. But only if I get good work and money, otherwise I’m happy at home.”

On a parting note, Nadkarni also opens up on why she didn’t visit her co-star Ankita Lokhande’s wedding in December last year. “I was shooting on both the days till late night. Kab jaun shaadi mein? Jabse hum Pavitra Rishta kar rahe the, she would ask, ‘Aai, aayegi na? Main boli, ‘Kuch nahin hoga toh aaungi.’ Lekin nahin ho paaya,” she ends.

Vinay MR Mishra (HINDUSTAN TIMES; January 10, 2022)

The wedding of actor Ankita Lokhande and businessman Vicky Jain on December 14 was nothing short of a fairytale. Lokhande’s exquisite gold bridal gown by Manish Malhotra, her walk towards the stage with Ganga aarti playing in the background, the groom’s unique entrance on a vintage car drew a lot of attention and admiration from her fans and well-wishers.

Speaking to us for the first time since her marriage, Lokhande says, “You need [to get] goosebumps when you’re getting married, and I had goosebumps.”

She goes on, “I had fun at my wedding. It was beautiful. People had tears in their eyes. Vicky cried when he saw me [in the bridal attire]. And I’m happy that I did that (made him feel that way) to him (laughs).” About her own emotional moment, she shares, “The minute I saw my dad crying, I started tearing up.”

Talking further about the three-day long affair, the actor shares, “Everyone has their own wedding plans. Vicky and I planned a few things too. Jo socha tha usse kahin zyada achchi ho gayi cheezein. We were excited and super nervous since it was a one-take thing. I always wanted my wedding to be different. My wedding was not too much tadak bhadak. It was very classy, just the way I wanted it.”

Lokhande adds that she was not a “finicky bride” and “knew exactly what she wanted”. She explains, “Being an actor, I visualise things quickly. I’m not a confused girl. My outfits were also classy. I wanted to wear minimal jewellery as I wanted to show the glow on my face. I was even particular that I wanted a red garland so that it stands out.”

Looking forward to Makar Sankranti
Lokhande and Jain will celebrate their first Makar Sankranti as a married couple on January 14, which will also be their one-month anniversary. She says, “In Marathi culture, Makar Sankranti is very important. It’s my first post marriage. So, it’s a big deal. My mum has already prepared and bought all the jewels made out of grains. There’s going to be a haldi and kumkum ceremony. The newlyweds are supposed to be in black outfits. I’m going to be all dolled up.”

I’d love to become a wife and build a family-Ankita Lokhande

Vinay M R Mishra (HINDUSTAN TIMES; November 15, 2021)

Of late, there’s been buzz around actor Ankita Lokhande’s impending marriage with businessman beau Vikas Jain. But the Pavitra Rishta... It’s Never Too Late actor refrains from speaking on the subject. However, she opens up to us and says, “I believe in marriage and the concept of love a lot. I get very excited about marriage, because it’s the best thing if two people are willing to live together and build a family.”

She adds, “This is what Indian tradition is all about. It is not just the boy and girl marrying each other, but the entire family. I like that, and if I get an opportunity, I will definitely do it.”

So, does that mean the opportunity is knocking at her doors now? “I definitely want to get married and that will happen one day. I’d love to become a wife and build a family,” says Lokhande.

She has been sharing celebratory stories on Instagram, of late, further fuelling the speculations around her wedding with Jain. Ankita Lokhande and boyfriend Vicky Jain to tie the knot in December

BOMBAY TIMES (November 2, 2021)

As per buzz, Ankita Lokhande and boyfriend Vicky Jain are all set to tie the knot. The couple who has been in a relationship for a few years has sent out a video asking people to block their dates from December 12 to 14. The animated video has a couple dancing to the background score from the film Om Shanti Om. The wedding will take place in Mumbai in the presence of family members and close friends.

Ankita was in a relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput many years ago. They started dating while shooting for Pavitra Rishta and called it quits in 2016.

The actress and Vicky, who is a businessman, started off as friends and at a later point decided to take their relationship to the next level. They have been together for the past few years and often post pictures on social media. Ankita had even thanked Vicky for all the support that he has given her during tough times. In June this year, she had posted a long note appreciating him.

She wrote, “You were there for me when times were tough. You were always the first person to ask me how I was doing, if I needed help in anything, or if I wanted to get away so that I could clear my head. You were always so worried about me, and I always told you that I was fine because I was knowing that I had you with me. I want to thank you for being the best boyfriend in the world. I don’t need to tell you what I need, but you always know what it is somehow. Thank you for always treating me like a princess, for making time for me no matter how busy you get, for making the effort to bond with my family, and for hanging out with me and my friends. These little things mean a lot. These are what endear you to me. We have been through so much together. I cannot believe it sometimes. I love you because you stayed by my side, and you promised that everything will be okay. You kept your promise, and you always came through for me. For that, I will always be grateful to you. It’s been a very challenging year, and knowing that I have you by my side made all the difference. I don’t know where I’d be without you. I love you more now because of this (sic).”

With rumours of Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, Rajkummar Rao and Patrakehaa and Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s weddings already doing the rounds, it sure looks like the shaadi season is all set to kick-off in Bollywood.
