“It’s a baraat song, 'Pyaar ka test', filmed on Taapsee and Amit in the film and sung by Bappi da. We thought this peppy track with its quirky lyrics could be turned into a fun promotional video with him. He is really excited,” says director Amit Roy, adding that since they don’t have enough time to fly down to the City of Angels, cinematographer-director Yash Bhatt, who has assisted Amit earlier and is based in LA, will shoot the video for him.
Amit admits that they won’t try to change Bappi’s distinctive look — dark glasses, the gold chains and the flashy clothes. “My idea is to also integrate a heart in his costumes to complement the lyrics. Yash and I have been having long Skype discussions everyday,” adds Amit.
Abhishek and Akshay has composed the track.
Will he integrate the video in the film too? “We are yet to take a call on that, but we might use it during the end credits,” Amit signs off.
We tried getting in touch with the Golden Man but his phone just rang and rang. Obviously, he was lost in La La Land.

Punjabi music sensation Labh Janjua’s sudden demise in October 2015 came as a shock. The singer delivered chartbusters like Jee Karda (Singh Is Kinng; 2008), Dance Pe Chance (Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi; 2008), Soni De Nakhre (Partner; 2007) and London Thumakda (Queen; 2014). But now, Labh’s admirers will get to listen to his voice for the last time in a new Bollywood song.
Hitlist has learnt that he recorded an uptempo number, Dimpi De Naal Bhaage Bunty, for Shoojit Sircar’s upcoming production, RunningShaadi.com, before his untimely death. The track, which has a blend of Punjabi and Hindi lyrics, has been composed by Abhishek-Akshay.
The makers are elated that Labh’s vibrant voice will feature in the movie’s soundtrack. RunningShaadi.
com director Amit Roy says, “The experience of working on this track with Labhji was surreal. Before leaving the studio, his last words to me were, ‘Yeh song bahut bada hit hoyega (This song will be a huge hit).’ He was an amazing soul, a pure and exceptional singer. He sang the song effortlessly. He took it to a different level altogether. I feel he is blessing us from somewhere up.”

Avinash Lohana (MUMBAI MIRROR; November 12, 2015)
After debuting in Shoojit Sircar's Vicky Donor, Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam reunite for a single, titled "Yahin Hoon Main". Directed by Amit Roy and produced by Bhushan Kumar, the song is sung by Ayushmann while his college buddy Rochak Kohli has composed the music.
"It's a nostalgic song that plays out from Yami's point of view. Ayushmann's playback is beautiful. I knew I had to direct the song the moment I heard it," the director says, adding that the song will appeal to youngsters as well as elders of a certain vintage. Amit, who has directed Ayushmann in his previous single "Mitti Di Khushboo", shot in the picturesque Chail region of Himachal Pradesh.
"I wanted to set the song against a romantic backdrop. It was a two-day schedule. We shot at a beautiful palace that was converted into a college campus and the cottages within its premises were shown as the houses the leads live in," reveals Amit, adding that Ayushmann and Yami share a great onscreen chemistry.
"It's surprising that they haven't been cast together even after delivering a hit like Vicky Donor when Bollywood is known to cash in on hit pairs," he says.
The song required Ayushmann and Yami to play college kids who grow into mature individuals. "While I think both of them can carry off any look, we had a lot of help from our stylists," the director says, adding that he believes the single trend is here to stay. "Music albums have eight songs. But when you know that only two of them are going to work, why not put all your energy only behind those two," he says.
Buzz is, he was also making a film with Ayushmann titled Agra Ka Daabra. "For some reasons it didn't fall in place, but we are talking about other projects. Let's see what materialises," Amit concludes.
Saif Ali Khan to dabble in Haryanvi in Amit Roy's next?

It seems that Saif Ali Khan
is taking Ekta Kapoor's advice to opt for “age-appropriate“ roles
rather seriously. A few months ago, during a chat, the Balaji
head-honcho convinced the actor that he should embrace his age, instead
of running from older characters.
Mirror has learnt that the actor has agreed to star in director Amit Roy's film, a thriller set in the Northern belt. Roy has previously directed the yet-to-be-released Shoojit Sircar-produced Running Shaadi.com which is yet to find a release.
A source close to the development told Mirror, “A few weeks ago, Amit and his team met Saif and discussed the core idea of the film. In the thriller, he will be seen playing a Haryanvi cop for which he will undergo intensive training.“
In the recent past, Kangana played a Haryanvi girl to perfection in Tanu Weds Manu while Aamir Khan is prepping himself to play a Haryanvi wrestler in Nitesh Tiwari's Dangal. “He's not just a cop, but father to a teenage son and the story revolves around his attempts to become the hero in the eyes of his son.“
Last time, Saif played a father on-screen was in the Rani Mukerji-starrer Ta Ra Rum Pum. Other than the Amit Roy film which is likely to star later this year, Saif has Vishal Bhardwaj's next with Shahid Kapoor and Kangana, Vikramaditya Motwane's next and Sujoy Ghosh's adaptation of The Devotion of Suspect X with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

After their first successful
collaboration, Vickey Donor, Ayushmann Khurrana and Shoojit
Sircar decided to do a second film together titled Hamara
Bajaj.
The film hit a roadblock after the automobile giant, Bajaj threatened legal action against the producers for using their name in the title. The project was put on hold as Shoojit got busy with Piku, which features Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan. Now, the Ayushmann-Tapsee Pannu starrer is back on track with a new title, Agra Ka Daabra. And the film's leading man came up with the title.
Confirming the same, the actor told Mirror, “Daabra is the last name of my character who was earlier called Sanjay Bajaj. The film is called Agra Ka Daabra because it is almost entirely set in Agra although some portions will be shot in Mumbai as well.“
The film is about a tourist guide from the city of the Taj with Bollywood dreams. It will roll in December.
The film's director Amit Roy added, “It's a catchy title for a film set in Agra. My Running Shaadi.com will release only next year and in the meanwhile, I'm fine-tuning the script.“
MEANWHILE...
Whatever happened to Vibhu Puri's directorial debut Hawaizaada with Ayushmann and Pallavi Sharda (of Besharam fame)? The actor says because of extensive VFX and the lack of a clear window for release, the film will now open next year. “We have 10 days of shoot left which we will be finished in Rajkot,“ he adds.
Other than these two films, the actor has recently formed a band, Ayushmann After School. “When I was in Chandigarh, we used to jam together after we finished school,“ he remi nisces with a smile. “Along with my other band-mates, I'll be writing, singing and composing for the band,“ he added.

While Chetan Bhagat has been going around town promoting his next bestseller, Half Girlfriend, a short film featuring Kritika Kamra, (TV star from Kitni Mohabbat Hai) and Vikrant Massey (he played Ranveer Singh's best friend in Lootera) is currently under post-production, preparing for an online premiere.
The story has been written by Amit Roy, who has directed the yet-to-be-released Running Shaadi.com and has been directed by Navjot Gulati, who wrote the script of the Amit Sadh-Taapsee Pannu-starrer.
Said a source involved with the film's production, "It's about this guy who is in a relationship with a rich girl who he feels is the best girl he could ever have. Just when things are looking up, a dark twist changes both their lives. The film is about the hypocrisy and fragility of urban relationships."
Confirming the same, Navjot told Mirror, "I am planning a feature film which I will direct next year. Until then, I thought I'd work on a short film - this idea is inspired by a true event, an incident that happened to a friend of mine."
The film, which is about ten-minutes long and was shot over a course of ten days in Mumbai, will be released online on October 25.

He may have had only one release this year, but as far as his singing career is concerned, Ayushmann Khurrana continues his prolific streak. Mirror has learnt that the actor for the music video of his next single has teamed up with Huma Qureshi. The video, shot in Mumbai and Thailand, has been directed by Amit Roy, who has helmed the yet-to-be released Running Shaadi.com.
Revealed a source close to the development, "The song is called Mitti Di Khushboo and is composed by Rochak Kohli--the same musician who worked with Ayushmann on Paani Da Rang (Vickey Donor) and Saadi Gali (Nautanki Saala). In this video, Huma plays Ayushmann's childhood love, a pretty village belle who he is longing for when he's abroad. The song is about rains, love, nostalgia and homecoming.
When contacted, Ayushmann, who is in Chandigarh for his brother, Aparshakti's wedding, confirmed the news saying, "Yes, Huma is a part of my next single. We were looking for a Punjabi girl and although she isn't one, she looks the part," says Ayushmann, adding that it was her performance in Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana that prompted him to get in touch with her.
"I wrote to her after watching the film recently. She responded positively, heard the song and loved it. We had a great shoot. The song should be out by the end of this month," he informs.
Is acting taken a backseat? "No!" he protests adding, "My next film, Hawaaizada, was to release this year, but due to extensive post-production, it will now open in 2015. Meanwhile, I will start shooting for Hamara Bajaj by December."
