Aman Yatan Verma has been missing from the small screen for a while now. The actor, who was last seen in Bigg Boss 9 in 2015 and the TV show Shapath, admits that there is nothing exciting for him on television.
He says, “I am what I am today because of TV, but honestly, I feel the content hasn’t progressed much. I did two web shows and I am also excited by what the South film industry is doing currently. Also, a lot has changed in the past two years, so it is not that I don’t want to do TV, but there is nothing interesting as of now.”
On the personal front, Aman married his co-actor Vandana Lalwani in December 2016. Talking about how much life has changed in the past six years, he says, “Yeh woh laddoo hai jo khaye pachtaye, jo na khaye woh bhi pachtaye! Marriage has changed me as a person. I am calmer and do not see any situation with the aggression that I used to before. Also, for me, marriage was a big step because I lived alone for many years and had decided that if I do get married, it will only be when I find the right person. It has been six years now and I have no complains, I am enjoying life with Vandana. Earlier, I had set patterns about living life, but now I am more flexible and believe that there are many ways to solve a situation.”
Aman admits that he is often asked when the couple plans to start a family. “It is the most common question I get. Some people actually go to the extent of telling me to put everything aside and just focus on starting a family! I have received so many tips from people. I feel there is a time for everything. Whenever it is meant to happen, it will happen. I would love to become a father and have kids, but I am not in a rush,” he says with a laugh.

I am losing a number of my friends who don’t see eye-to-eye with what happened to Sushant Singh Rajput. I hope with the CBI’s investigation, the truth comes out soon,” says Aman Yatan Verma, who believes people need to understand that this is a political game.
Verma is unhappy that while news channels are “cooking up new stories daily”, people aren’t “even thinking about issues like the GDP, economy, unemployment or migrants”. “But people know all about Rhea (Chakraborty) and her family and about her WhatsApp chats,” he adds.
He is upset about the entire film industry being labelled as ‘drug users’. Verma shares, “I don’t do drugs, or smoke or drink. And there are many actors like me who worked hard to make a place for ourselves.” While he believes this might be a bad phase for the industry, he also feels it’s the time to show solidarity, which isn’t happening. “This is the time to speak up for the industry. Everyone is scared and so people are taking advantage. People have to voice their opinions like Jaya ji (Bachchan) did in Parliament,” he says.
Verma feels sorry for Rajput’s family as “everyone has forgotten him”. “By being part of a conversation on him, you are getting eyeballs, which is sad,” says the actor, who is shooting for a film “inspired by current events” including Rajput’s death probe. Ask if the film too is trying to get eyeballs and he says, “People might think so but it’s an inspired version, not a blatant copy.”
I was never commitment-phobic, I just wanted to settle with the right girl-Aman Verma

Love can happen in the most
unlikely situation and at a time when you least expect it. Actor Aman
Verma is finally giving up his bachelor status for actress and fiancée
Vandana Lalwani on April 20. Aman, who's known to be choosy about his
work on TV, was also taking his time in choosing the right partner when
it came to tying the knot. Ask the actor if he was commitment-phobic
and he denies it saying, “No, I never feared marriage. I have always
wanted to settle down with the right girl, whether it is now or ten
years ago. I have had my share of relationships in the past which did
not work out. I have been in a couple of relationships earlier but
things did not work out and the women have moved
on in their lives. I wish them all the best. At that point I was ready
for marriage, but the relationships did not go in that direction."
Aman has found his soulmate in Vandana. He says, “We come from similar backgrounds. Vandana is secure about me and gives me my space unlike the women in my past, who got insecure. The intensity I experience while choosing my roles...I felt the same intensity and clarity in my relationship with her. I felt like sharing more time with her and realised she was the one who I would like to spend the rest of my life with. Marriage is a great partnership if two individuals share love, understanding and respect.“
