Tanishaa Mukerji, who was last seen in the film Be Careful (2011), is all set to come back to films. She is doing Jyothi Kapur Das’s Abhi Nahi Toh Kabhi Nahi, a romcom produced by Virender K Arora, Arjun N Kapoor and Mahesh Bhupathi. The film revolving around a father (Pankaj Kapur) and his children (Pankaj’s own daughter Sanah Kapur, Tanishaa and a new actor), also stars Sanjay Kapoor and Vinay Virmani.
Says a source, “Mahesh’s wife Lara Dutta was to do the role but the film got delayed a bit, so she didn’t have the dates. Lara also signed Singh Is Bliing by then. Tanishaa has now stepped into her shoes. It’s the role of a young, bubbly girl and Tanishaa loved her character. Pankaj plays her father and he’s seen in a fun and romantic avatar in the film. Initially, Rajeev Khandelwal was also supposed to do one of the roles but his role changed quite a bit so he opted out.”
Tanishaa, who had not signed any films post Bigg Boss 7, is currently acting in the play The Jury directed by Divya Palat. The actress had recently also launched a production house with her mother Tanuja. Post BB7 she did another spot on TV, as one of the judges in the stand-up comedy show Gangs of Hasseepur. Abhi Nahin Toh Kabhi Nahin Abhi will be her first film after four years.

Adds the source, “Richa and Ali have agreed to do the film. Tentatively titled Rourav, it will also have Kay Kay Menon in a pivotal role. At the moment, crew members are scouting for appropriate locations.”

Lara Dutta talks about her comeback, hubby Mahesh Bhupathi's Olympics controversy, his turbulent relationship with Leander Paes and organising playdates for daughter Saira
Roshmila Bhattacharya (MUMBAI MIRROR; May 18, 2015)
Lara Dutta Bhupathi sails
into the office, cool in a sundress, orders a black
coffee, sinks into a chair and a “Phew!“ escapes past
her lips. “Life is far more hectic when you're focusing on three people
instead of one. I wasn't so busy when I was just a movie star,“ says Lara
who today is the supportive wife of tennis ace, Mahesh Bhupathi, a
multi-tasking homemaker and hands-on mummy to Saira, who now that her
three year old is enjoying playdates and sleepovers, is slowly getting
back to the archlights.
She's just returned from a schedule of Singh Is Bliing in Goa.“We shot a song on the beach. The last time I did a song was for Don 2, four years ago. And now I had to perform Prabhu Dheva's choreography,“ says Lara who agreed to be a part of the unconventional love triangle because Akshay Kumar is an old friend.
Fitoor was another film she accepted because she's known director Abhishek Kapoor since she was 17. He'd come to her with his first film, Aryan. She didn't have dates then but now she's a part of his Indianised Great Expectations. “Mine is the only character who's not in Charles Dickens's book. She fills a void in artist Noor's (Aditya Roy-Kapur) life as friend and mentor till he abruptly loses her,“ explains Lara who after two days of shoot, fractured her foot but was back on the sets after three days and five days after Fitoor, was going Blingy in Goa. “That's an actor's glamorous life,“ she smiles.
Yet, she would never choose Bollywood over Hollywood even though she's happy former Miss World Priyanka Chopra is the star of an ABC TV show, Quantico. “I had my opportunities when I was living in New York after my Miss Universe win but though I've lived alone since I was 16, it's tough living in another country without a support system. Now, I have far more access to the A-listers but I can't think of uprooting my family. It's not even financially viable,“ she reasons.
She's happy with her production company and hopes to roll with Chalo China this year. It was delayed after Malaysia changed its laws. She says the sequel to Challo Dilli will be zanier. She's producing another film under her banner and no it's not Abhi Nahi Toh Kabhi Nahi. “Mahesh is producing that one. I'll do a sports film next but I can't go into details,“ she says cagely.
Talking of sports, not many gave her marriage to Mahesh more than six months. “I've never felt more fulfilled in my life. I'm a devout Catholic and Mahesh is a Christian, we take our vows seriously. Saira has only strengthened the bond,“ she asserts, admitting that though Mahesh initially kept his emotions bottled up, he knows how to romance a movie star wife in a larger-than-life way. He flew out her Miss Universe co-contestants from around the world or had them remninisce through AVs on the 10th anniversary of the year she won the crown.
And she stood by him like a rock when the Olympics controversy flared and through the last two years when he was working tirelessly to start his own tennis league. “Today he has the world's best playing for his tennis league. Even Leander (Paes) has signed up for IPTL this year,“ Lara beams, admitting that Mahesh and his former doubles partner are best left to each other. “One day they're shouting at each other, the next supporting each other through a personal crisis. They are like two kids or two people in a bad marriage,“ she laughs.
Lara herself is mentoring and grooming Miss India contestants for the international competitions so they can do India proud. “Not pretty girls for Bollywood but beautiful women with a mind, heart and voice,“ she asserts.

Sanyukta Iyer (MUMBAI MIRROR; January 22, 2015)
Ever heard of kids growing up together, remaining best friends through their teens, then falling in love in the blink of an eye and getting married? It happens only in Mills & Boons... and the movies.
That's the plot of Lara Dutta's comeback love story, Abhi Nahi Toh Kabhi Nahi, which is set in picturesque Darjeeling and produced by her husband, tennis ace, Mahesh Bhupathi. It pairs her with the intense Kay Kay Menon. "They're like a couple straight out of a romantic novel, lots of sparks and nok jhoks," asserts debutante director Jyothi Kapur Das.
The film also features four couples and has Rajeev Khandelwal in a guest appearance. "There are five heroes and four heroines, only Rajeev has no partner," says Jyothi.
Mirror (January 15) had earlier reported that Pankaj Kapur and daughter Sanah are a part of the ensemble cast. The director informs that Himansh Kohli who debuted in 2014 with Yaariyan will play Sanah's love interest. "They play carefree teenagers in love who haven't entered the real world yet," she adds.
After young love comes the Lara-Kay Kay duo. The director insists that the vivacious Lara is a perfect foil for the brooding actor. "I was impressed with his off the cuff one-liners during the script-reading session. He got under the skin of his character with just a few lines, he's so intuitive," she avers.
Pankaj Kapur is the star of the twilight romance. Buzz is, Pooja Bhatt will make her big screen comeback as his love interest. But all Jyothi will say about the casting coup is, "Pankaj will be romancing an actress who is also a director."

While Vikas Bahl's Shandaar, which will mark her debut as an actress is yet to release, Sanah Kapur, Shahid Kapoor's younger sister, has already bagged her next project. Shandaar also features her father Pankaj Kapur in a prominent role, and in her second film too Sanah will share screenspace with daddy.
A source told Mirror that the youngster has been roped in for a film titled Abhi Nahi Toh Kabhi Nahi, produced by Lara Dutta, her husband Mahesh Bhupathi and Virender Arora.
Said a source close to the development, "The film is a romantic, family comedy and it deals with four couples of varying ages and their love stories. While Sanah is part of the youngest couple, Pankaj, will be seen romancing a younger actress."
The source added that the makers are bullish on the actress and after a few rounds of narration, locked her for the part. "She represents the voice of the youth in a film that has people from all age groups," added the source.
The film also features Kay Kay Menon, Rajeev Khandelwal but will also see Lara Dutta in a prominent role. It is expected to go on floors in May this year and will be extensively shot in Darjeeling.
When asked if it was her father who recommended her for the role, our source said, "No, he didn't even know that she's been approached and it was Sanah herself who broke the news to Pankaj that she's doing yet another film with him."

MID-DAY (December 22, 2014)
Producers Virendra K Arora and Arjun N Kapoor will launch their film, Abhi Nahi Toh Kabhi Nahi, in collaboration with a leading studio and in association with Big Daddy Productions. The project goes on floors in March-April 2015. The musical family comedy stars Pankaj Kapur, Kay Kay Menon, Lara Dutta and Rajeev Khandelwal. Four leading actors and a debutant are also part of the cast. Zee Music will be the quintessential part of the film.
Abhi Nahi Toh Kabhi Nahi weaves four love stories and shows the life of the protagonists through their own beautiful journeys.
As the story unwinds, comical and realistic elements give the film a light-hearted feel to it. Pankaj Kapur for the first time will be seen in a never-seen before, full of zest, die-hard romantic avatar.
On the other hand, Rajeev Khandelwal who took on this role purely on the basis of the story line and strong content, is enthralled to be part of the film. He states, “This film is different from what I have done in the recent past. I am looking forward to be a part of this romantic funfilled ensemble.”
Rajeev adds that he has been a big fan of Pankaj Kapur since his Karamchand days and it would be a great honour to share screen space with the veteran as well as the immensely talented Kay Kay and Lara Dutta.
Kapoor asserts that the production house is strongly inclined and passionate about music and great music will be an integral part of all the films that come out of their stable.
The production house has also lined up a big star-studded musical from the golden era of the ’70s called Sitaarey. This film will star one of the greatest romantic heroes and will commence shoot in Mumbai in July- August 2015. Sitaarey will be followed by a romantic comedy tentatively titled Mumbai Motor Works.
With three heart-warming films in the making, the producers aim to provide a pleasing, enjoyable cinematic experience to the audience.

Lara Dutta was supposed to return from a three-year maternity leave with Chalo China, the sequel of her first home production, Chalo Dilli.
In an earlier interview to Mirror (February 24), she had sounded upbeat about taking the franchise forward. "Chalo China will be shot in multiple locations across Asia, including Thailand, Malaysia and China. This film is not set in India," she had said. But those travel plans have been put on hold for now.
Mirror has learnt that Lara, who was last seen in a special appearance in Farhan Akhtar's Don 2 in 2011, will now make her comeback with a film which will be co-produced by her tennis star husband, Mahesh Bhupathi, along with debutant producer Virender Arora.
Titled Abhi Nahi Toh Kabhi Nahi, the comedy of errors revolves around a quirky Indian family. "Lara plays Pankaj Kapur's daughter, a well-to-do small town girl who runs a cafe. Her life turns topsy turvy when she falls in love with Kay Kay Menon's character, an aspiring hotelier," revealed a source close to the production.
The source added that Lara was bowled over by the script and instantly agreed to come on board. "It's Kay Kay's most romantic film yet and a perfect vehicle for the former Miss Universe to get back in Bollywood," said the source.
The film boasts of an ensemble cast and negotiations are underway with several other actors.
Abhi Nahi Toh Kabhi Nahi goes on floors in December and is expected to be shot extensively in North India.
