2.0 (Hindi) has done business of 137.50 crore nett in eight days and has become the highest NETT grosser for Akshay Kumar as it beat the 132 crore nett of TOILET - EK PREM KATHA. It still has a little bit to cover in terms of GROSS as ROWDY RATHORE grossed 180 crore and 2.0 (Hindi) stands at 176 crore. 2.0 (Hindi) should cross the 180 crore mark today.
The film held up strongly on Monday but has seen 15-20% daily drops since Monday which is on the higher side. The film is a solid HIT and the second Friday business will tell if it can get a higher status. There will be KEDARNATH for competition but 2.0 (Hindi) has a chance to lead that film in some of the circuits on Friday.
The film is on course for a certain 175 crore nett and the second Friday will tell if the film has a shot at 200 crore nett plus.
The first week daily collections of 2.0 (Hindi) are as follows
Thursday - 20,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 18,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 24,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 33,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 13,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 11,50,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 9,50,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 7,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,37,50,00,000 apprx
--------------------------------
2.0 became the first film from the Tamil film industry to hit 500 crore worldwide as it collected around 380 crore gross apprx in India and 120 crore Overseas in its extended first week in all formats. This makes it the 12th highest grossing India film worldwide in all formats. It is the highest grosser from the South outside the BAAHUBALI films which were both from the Telugu film industry.
If week look at the top South Indian films worldwide in all formats then the top five are as follows.
1. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) - 1811 crore
2. Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) - 600 crore
3. 2.0 (2018) - 500 crore apprx (8 Days)
4. Enthiran (2010) - 320 crore
5. Kabali (2016) - 304 crore
The film has set new highs in all regions for a Tamil film be it Hindi markets, Nizam/Andhra, Karnataka or Kerala but it is short in its home market Tamil Nadu. In terms of NETT collections the highest collection of all time in Tamil Nadu is BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION with 126 crore nett but the highest collection for a film from Tamil Cinema is ENTHIRAN with 102 crore nett. The collection of 2.0 is 62 crore nett apprx in eight days.
The top NETT collections of all time in Tamil Nadu are as follows.
1. Bahubali - The Conclusion (2017) - 126 crore
2. Enthiran (2010) - 102 crore
3. Sarkar (2018) - 98 crore
4. Mersal (2018) - 97 crore
5. Kabali (2016) - 79 crore
2.0 will get among the top five in Tamil Nadu but it could fall short of ENTHIRAN which is the first film of the series in terms of NETT collections which means the share will also fall short. In GROSS collections it will surpass due to GST and LBT being added in Tamil Nadu in 2017. The 100 crore nett mark could prove elusive in Tamil Nadu though worldwide the business will probably be double of ENTHIRAN.

2.0 (Hindi) had a noticeable drop on Wednesday as it dropped around 18% from the previous day but still it has put up strong first week numbers of 130 crore nett apprx. The film has sustained and for a South dubbed film it is exceptional.
The Monday hold was stronger than the rest of the weekdays but it is an extended week. The film should consolidate again over the second weekend as has found appreciation all over. Bihar is the best market followed by Delhi/UP. The lesser performance is Mumbai which maybe could have been little higher. The multiplexes could have done better in Mumbai and Pune
The film is on course for a certain 175 crore nett and the second Friday will tell if the film has a shot at 200 crore nett plus.
The first week daily collections of 2.0 (Hindi) are as follows
Thursday - 20,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 18,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 24,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 33,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 13,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 11,50,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 9,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,29,75,00,000 apprx
-------------------------------
2.0 had GROSS of 362 crore apprx in India in seven days with the Hindi markets contributing around 47% of the all India business. This should eventually go over to around 50%. The contribution of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION was 46% for the Hindi markets but that is because the home market of BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION (Andhra) has bigger potential than the home market of 2.0 (Tamil Nadu)
If the film is right than the Hindi markets do add to these South Indian films. Only five South Indian films have crossed 300 crore worldwide and all have been Hindi releases. Obviously the South films cant be the normal films about a youth in Hyderabad or Chennai be it action or love story genre but if the scale is bigger and does not give the feel of regionality then there is potential for business in Hindi markets.
2.0 will hit the 500 crore mark worldwide it its extended first week with figures standing at 480 crore apprx in seven days. The break down of the India GROSS business in week one is as follows.
Hindi Markets - 170 crore (including Tamil and Telugu versions playing in Hindi circuits)
Tamil Nadu - 75 crore
Nizam/Andhra - 64 crore (Not including Marathawada which is a part of this circuit for the regular Hindi film. For this film Marathawada has been put in Hindi markets).
Karnataka - 36 crore
Kerala - 17 crore
TOTAL - 362 crore
The ratios are as follows
Hindi Markets - 46.96%
Tamil Nadu - 20.72%
Nizam/Andhra - 17.68%
Karnataka - 9.94%
Kerala - 4.70%

2.0 (Hindi) dropped 15% on Tuesday which is a bit more than the regular 10% for a big film on a Tuesday but its was the sixth day here instead of the fifth day. The film has collected over 120 crore nett in six days and the first week (seven days) is looking to be around 130 crore nett.
This 120 crore nett for 2.0 in Hindi is without South so real value is around 135 crore when compared to other Hindi films. Its still about the Friday which will tell where the film is going and there will be a some competition from KEDARNATH which will get a good release though collections will be another matter and will depend on the film.
The first three day collections of 2.0 (Hindi) are as follows
Thursday - 20,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 18,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 24,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 33,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 13,50,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 11,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,20,25,00,000 apprx
The southern versions of the film dropped less in Bangalore though Hyderabad was in a similar range to the Hindi version.
----------------------------------
2.0 grossed continues with strong collections all over with business of 24 crore nett which takes the film to over 280 crore nett. The film is doing record or near record business in the big centres of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The smaller centers are less but are very steady and will have good runs.
BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION is the highest all India NETT grosser at 1115 crore and that is impossible to touch but it will easily become the second highest NETT grosser ever as it beats the 418 crore nett of BAAHUBALI: THE BEGINNING. The 500 crore nett mark will also prove to be a step too far due to the flow of releases in December.
The first six day NETT collections 2.0 across India are as follows.
Thursday - 62,31,00,000
Friday - 44,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 55,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 68,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 29,00,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 24,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 2,82,31,00,000 apprx

2.0 (Hindi) was excellent on its first Monday as it grossed 13.50 crore and took its total to around 109 crore nett. The film showed an all India drop of 25% while many areas dropped less. East Punjab saw the biggest drop with a fall of 35%.
The film is doing strong business all over and is actually only the fifth universally accepted film across all circuits this year after SANJU, PADMAAVAT (the ones it was screened in), BAAGHI 2 and STREE. The film is now set for a solid run till ZERO and could even go on post ZERO and into the new year. The collections on Friday will determine whether the film can be a SUPER HIT or BLOCKBUSTER film.
The first three day collections of 2.0 (Hindi) are as follows
Thursday - 20,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 18,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 24,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 33,25,00,000 apprx
Monday - 13,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,08,75,00,000 apprx
The Tamil and Telugu versions have also held up extremely well. In fact its rare to see a big film hold up so well in these parts but this is mainly as some places the start was not the bumper opening you would expect.
The film will also have a long run across the markets in South.
------------------------
2.0 grossed maintained very well across the country in all formats as it grossed 29 crore nett apprx on Monday. This takes its all India total to 258 crore nett with the Hindi version contributing 42%. It will be a little more in terms of Gross figures.
The film will easily be over 300 crore nett for the week and may finish the extended first week with business of 325 crore nett across India. This is a little short of SANJU which is the top film of the year in India. The all India collections of 2.0 are from 6900 screens across the country while SANJU was a 4200 screen release.
The GROSS number for all India is 336 crore appprx. The first five day NETT collections 2.0 across India are as follows.
Thursday - 62,31,00,000
Friday - 44,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 55,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 68,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 29,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 2,58,31,00,000 apprx
The collections in Overseas are $14.75 million apprx in five days which is 103 crore. The film was released on 2000 screens in Overseas and has done very well despite a mid range start on Thursday. It was a working day on Thursday but big South Indian films tend to score big on the opening day especially is USA which did not happen with 2.0. The Hindi version is has not done well due to a horrible release. In UK it has just £120k in five days and Gulf is $825k in five days.
The worldwide figure is 439 crore in five days and the recovery on the film so far is around 200 crore in five days from theatres across the world. 200 crore is the approx distributor share that the film has picked up in five days.
The film had recovered around 200 crore from sale of satellite, digital and music which means the total recovery till date is 400 crore. A 500 crore recovery on the film is locked and above that will depend on how well the film can sustain in the coming weeks and then Far East, Japan and other fledgling markets.
If the film had released last year as planned then it would be in the plus already in just five days. But the issues with VFX and delays added around 175 crore to the cost of the film and it remains to be seen how far recovery can go at the end of its theatrical run.

2.0 (Hindi) scored a huge Sunday with collections going to around 33 crore nett apprx. The four day weekend of the film is 95 crore nett apprx which is huge number for this film. The families have really come out over Saturday and Sunday.
The film did start slow in some areas on Friday but by Sunday its doing very well across the board. The film is missing business in the South due to the Tamil and Telugu version and if it was a normal Hindi film then it would be a 105 crore nett extended weekend. The ticket prices have also not been hiked for this film like it was for RACE 3, SANJU and THUGS OF HINDOSTAN.
The first three day collections of 2.0 (Hindi) are as follows
Thursday - 20,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 18,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 24,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 33,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 95,25,00,000 apprx
The main worry for a dubbed film is post the first day especially if the dubbed film has a healthy first day number but this film has gone through with flying colors. There is acceptance for the film across all Hindi circuits and now its about the level it holds on the weekdays. A normal Monday hold confirm this film as a HIT.
The film has also done well in Tamil and Telugu in the South but due to the growth in the Hindi versions it is actually the Hindi version which has performed best.
-------------------------------
2.0 (Hindi) is the highest Akshay Kumar opening weekend and that too by a distance as it went through the figures of HOUSEFULL 3 by a margin. The film was a non holiday release and it had about 10% of the Hindi film business missing due to a non release in the South for the Hindi version.
The Akshay Kumar factor is in play in this film as its North India which has out performed for this film. Till date every South dubbed film (be it a success or disaster) has under performed in places like Delhi/UP and East Punjab but here these two markets lead the way. On Sunday they had crazy collections of 7.50 crore nett in Delhi/UP and 3.50 crore nett in East Punjab. BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION was universal and performed to huge levels across all Hindi markets. The presence of Akshay Kumar has made a difference to the film across all Hindi markets especially North and Central India.
Bihar and Rajasthan are also huge for a dubbed film with Bihar possibly coming out with an all time record on Sunday for the highest single day in history.
GOLD remains the highest opening day of Akshay Kumar but that was a national holiday release. Below are the top ten opening weekends of Akshay Kumar. Normally a film opens on Thursday if it is a holiday on Thursday or Friday but it was not the case here so the regular Fri-Sun weekend is taken for comparison. All are three days.
1. 2.0 - 75,25,00,000 apprx
2. Housefull 3 - 53,27,00,000
3. Rustom - 49,53,00,000
4. Toilet - Ek Prem Katha - 49,09,00,000
5. Jolly LLB 2 - 47,59,00,000
6. Brothers - 47,42,00,000
7. Rowdy Rathore - 46,04,00,000
8. Singh Is Bling - 44,23,00,000
9. Gold - 42,58,00,000
10. Airlift - 42,57,00,000

2.0 (Hindi) did very well on Saturday as it grossed 24 crore nett which is 35% more than Friday which is fantastic growth for a film which has been released so wide. It is very rare for such a wide release film to show such big growth on Saturday though a Thursday release could be a factor for that.
The film is doing great business across all Hindi circuits. Saturday saw Gujarat jump around 45% and this circuit was performing below par over the first two days. East Punjab crossed 2.50 crore nett and Delhi/UP was close to touching 6 crore nett. Bihar picked up a huge 1.25 crore nett and the circuit is close to 3.50 crore nett in 3 days.
The first three day collections of 2.0 (Hindi) are as follows
Thursday - 20,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 18,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 24,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 62,00,00,000 apprx
The first three days have picked up 62 crore nett which is the highest ever for an Akshay Kumar film and real value is more like 70 crore nett as the South market is generally missing for the Hindi version due to Tamil and Telugu versions.
The high end multiplexes also came on board on Sunday. These cinemas be it in Mumbai, Delhi city or Punjab did not start too well but have started to collect now which is a good sign for the run of the film over the next 2-3 weeks.
---------------------------
The all India business of 2.0 got a boost on Saturday with collections of 56-57 crore nett. The jump was driven by the Hindi circuits especially North and Mumbai but the Southern markets are sustaining. This film has a lot of negativity in the South and it mainly seems to be coming from the Tamil film industry or people linked to that industry when in truth it is THE film of that industry and should be the pride of that industry.
The negativity was pretty clear on Thursday evening when these 12 and 13 crorre GROSS numbers from Tamil Nadu started to do the rounds. But at the end of the day you may have some takers for this sort of rubbish but in the wider picture its just some sort of agenda or limited knowledge of box office numbers. In short 2.0 is to the Tamil film industry what SHOLAY is to the Hindi film industry and BAAHUBALI is to the Telugu film industry. It may not reverberate at the levels of those films across India but that does not take away the fact that it stands apart from what has come and gone in the Tamil industry so far by a distance. So negativity for the best ever in your industry is just crazy.
The other reason for the agenda could be the hero Rajinikanth but the fact there is this guy has dominated that industry for 38 years now and it can be pretty much said it will never find such a megastar again. In fact maybe the industry can attempt to make a film at the level of 2.0 again in time but the stardom of Rajinikanth in Tamil cinema will not be repeated.
When there is negativity about a film like THUGS OF HINDOSTAN then it is understandable as its public rejection but with 2.0 there is no such thing and the film has been liked by the vast majority be it Amritsar or Ambur.
The first three day NETT collections 2.0 across India are as follows.
Thursday - 64,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 45,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 56,50,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,65,50,00,000 apprx
The film will go past 200 crore nett on Sunday and will basically become the highest grossing film (not adjusted) in the history of Tamil cinema in four days in India and worldwide. The worldwide figures should comfortably cross 300 crore by the end of business on Sunday.

2.0 (Hindi) had a good second day as it grossed around 18 crore nett on day two. There is a drop in collections but it is limited drop and with a dubbed film the fear as always is a big second day drop. This is a normal trend for an outright Hindi film and its very good for a dubbed Hindi film. The two day business is 38 crore nett which is good.
The film is performing well in Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Bihar and Central India and most of these places are where dubbed South Indian films struggle especially the North. The collections are above average in places like Mumbai and West Bengal while it has mainly seen a release in Marathawada which for our markets comes in the South while elsewhere its a minimal Hindi release in South. Basically what we could call the Akshay Kumar markets for this film have done well and actually that's not just the case for the Hindi version but for the film as a whole. Even if we look at all India then the out performance for this is film is Delhi/UP, East Punjab, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI and Bihar.
The first two two day collections of 2.0 (Hindi are as follows
Thursday - 20,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 18,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 38,00,00,000 apprx
The film needs to be stable again on Saturday and have a push on Sunday and that should see the film come out with a good weekend and a chance for a good run over the next 2-3 weeks. The figures for the all India version will be given later but the Hindi version of the film has done best and looks to be the one should also do best in the long run.
In Overseas the Hindi version has not performed at all due to the complete lack of awareness that this film is also in Hindi.
-------------------------------
2.0 took a hit in Southern versions as its collections dropped around 30% on its second day but its not as bad as it seems as the way business is reported in Andhra tends to escalate the second day drop. In actual reporting through cinemas like we do in Hindi cinema the Andhra first day is lower than the market reports and the second day and all the rest in week one are more than they report. The film collected in the 44-45 crore nett region on day two. The two day collections are a little under 110 crore nett.
The main problem for the film is business is Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Hindi market is best followed by Karnataka/Mysore and Andhra Pradesh when the home market of Tamil Nadu should be stronger. The overseas markets are very bad for the Hindi version but Tamil is also not upto the mark.
The first two day NETT collections 2.0 across India are as follows.
Thursday - 64,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 45,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,09,00,00,000 apprx
Rajinikanth has the biggest films in the South after the BAAHUBALI films with both ENTHIRAN (Robot in Hindi) and KALBALI doing over 300 crore worldwide. In fact these two are the only South Indian films to cross this mark outside BAAHUBALI.
This film will easily top 300 crore but the target is more than double that due to the film going heavily over budget.
