2 States collects 10.04 cr in Week 3; 93.33 cr in 3 weeks

2 STATES grossed 10.04 crore nett in its third week taking its three week business to 93.33 crore nett and within touching distance of 100 crore nett.
The third week collections are only behind QUEEN for the year which grossed 12 crore nett plus. The biggest grosser of the year JAI HO grossed only 4 crore nett in week three and is the third highest third week collection of the year.
2 STATES should just get to 100 crore nett but it looks set to be a close run thing. If 100 crore nett seems the maximum it seemed like it will do it in its second week and could even challenge the 108 crore nett of JAI HO which is the best for 2014 till date.
2 STATES is looking set for another solid week as its fourth Friday was steady collections around the 65-70 lakhs nett mark with a a likely big jump on Saturday as has been the trend over the first three weeks.
The film dropped around 57% in the second week and the drop was in the same range in the third week and again it is looking 55-60% range drop in the fourth week. The film is benefiting from the poor performances of all Hindi films that released after it..
The film will just about get to 100 crore nett. It should be there either sometime in its fifth week or by the end of its fifth week.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, meanwhile, did well in its first week as it collected 40 crore nett. There was a drop in collections on the weekdays.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 fell badly on Monday with business in the 2.75 crore nett range. The collections are around 55% lower than Friday but a lot lower than Saturday and Sunday.
The film has grossed around 33 crore nett in India in four days and its looking a 40 crore nett week as a best case scenario for the film which will make it tough to get to the 50 crore nett mark which was the business of the last Spider-Man film.
Even if the business does somehow edge past the last Spider-Man film it still means the franchise is not really going forward in the Indian market.

2 STATES remained fairly steady on its third Monday with collections
around the 90 lakhs nett mark. The film has grossed around 7.75 crore
nett in its third week so far. The daily collections for the third week
are as follows.Friday - 1,50,00,000
Saturday - 2,40,00,000
Sunday - 2,85,00,000
Monday - 90,00,000
TOTAL - 7,65,00,000
New releases disastrous; 2 States cross 90 crore

The new releases of the week - ANGRY YOUNG MAN, KAHIN HAI MERA PYAR, KYA DILLI KYA LAHORE and PURANI JEANS - had very poor results with none of the films even getting close to 1 crore nett for the weekend. KYA DILLI KYA LAHORE showed an upturn at some premium multiplexes but nowhere near enough to change its fate.
2 STATES remained the top Hindi film as it collected around 6.75 crore nett to take its total to around 90 crore nett in 17 days. The film has crossed 30 crore nett in Mumbai and 16 crore nett in Delhi/UP.
The business of 2 STATES in its third weekend was the second best of the year after QUEEN which had grossed around 7.50 crore nett.

2 STATES held on very well again at the start of its third week with
around 1.50 crore nett. The film collected more than all the new Hindi
releases combined, the collections are even more if we add the holdover
films like BHOOTHNATH RETURNS, KAANCHI and REVOLVER RANI to the new
releases.
The trend looks the same as week two with a likely 60% drop in the third week. The competition for it came in the form of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 though it has not really affected 2 STATES.
It is likely the film will beclose to the 90 crore nett mark after the third weekend and is looking on course for a 100 crore nett finish.
