Early on during the UK leg, an image from the shoot of Samuk made its way online, giving a glimpse into the world of the Akshay Kumar-starrer. Now, as the sci-fi survival thriller’s final leg rolled in Powai on October 26, director Kanishk Varma and producer Vipul A Shah stepped up security measures to ensure that images from the set aren’t leaked online.
The makers want to keep the visual elements under wraps as Samuk has a distinct sci-fi premise and much effort has gone into building its world. Sources told us that mobile phones and photography have been barred on the set. Entry to the venue is also limited to essential cast and crew, with security personnel monitoring access.
A source said, “Samuk is not a conventional action film. There is a novel world that Kanishk wants audiences to discover on screen. The security measures are intended to ensure that no footage or visuals reach the audience before that.”
About two weeks of filming will take place across Mumbai, including at Film City and Jogeshwari. By mid-November, it will be a wrap on the thriller.
