It’s always special to reunite with your maiden film’s co-stars. Working on Anarth then was wonderful for Gulshan Devaiah as he shared the frame again with Kalki Koechlin, his co-star from That Girl in Yellow Boots (2010). Teaming up with the actor for the upcoming Prime Video series a decade after their last outing, A Death in the Gunj (2016), Devaiah described her as a “constant” in his life.
“Apart from Anurag [Kashyap], Kalki has been a constant in my career. We have finished shooting for Anarth. I really enjoyed working with her. We shot in Kolkata,” Devaiah smiled.
Reunions weren’t the only flavour of creator Ananya Banerjee’s series. Anarth also marked new collaborations for Devaiah in the form of co-stars Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Preeti Panigrahi of Girls Will Be Girls (2024) fame. “I had never met Parambrata before. I got to hang with him in Kolkata, and that was nice,” he shared.
The actor has the most scenes with Panigrahi in the horror drama, and he has walked away deeply impressed by his co-star.
“She is such a wonderful actor. She is young, but an old soul. She is also an artiste — outside of acting, she is into sketching. I had only seen her in Girls Will Be Girls, but here, I got to know her and make a new friend. I enjoyed working on this series. As I always say, if I don’t enjoy myself, then I have made the wrong choice.”
