Soon after Kareena Kapoor Khan made her acting debut with Refugee (2000), many were certain that she had the makings of a star. Something that her actor-sister Karisma Kapoor knew from their childhood. Karisma, who is among the judges on the fifth season of  India’s Best Dancer, opened up about Kareena while shooting the reality show’s upcoming episode. 

Karisma shared, “It was always clear that she would become an actress and a big star. She had been dancing since childhood. I used to learn dance as well; she would come, sit and watch me. So, that passion was always there.”

Kareena’s desire of seeing herself on the big screen materialized with JP Dutta’s Refugee. Karisma revealed that she visited the set to see her sister’s first close-up shot.

“We went there while the shoot was underway. Kareena’s first close-up was when she lifted her burqa, and you could just see that she was going to be a superstar. The way her eyes express emotions is [unmatched].”
