COCKTAIL 2 is coming to the end of its run as collections fall fast due to major releases coming week after week. If a film like WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE is finding it tough to hold up strongly in this period, then what chance does a film like COCKTAIL 2 have which will be a far inferior film and limited to a metro audience. The collections of the film stand at 82 crore nett and its likely to finish at around 85 crore nett as the release of DHAMAAL 4 will mean limited collections post week three.

The film started well enough but collections started falling fast after the weekend and the release of WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE and ALPHA meant it was a downward spiral. It would have been a fair result if the film could have got to 100 crore nett or close but it will fall well short. The Overseas markets have not done well either as it will finish around 25% below TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA.

COCKTAIL (2012) was a HIT but did not get much appreciation with the wider audience as collections also came down fast and that was without any competition which is not the case here. But in terms of costs, the film did well. Here, its a notch lower as commercially the film has not done well and there is nothing to say about appreciation as collections tell that story.

The collections of COCKTAIL 2 are as follows.
Week One - 62,57,00,000
Week Two - 16,25,00,000
Week Three - 3,50,00,000 apprx (4 days)
TOTAL - 82,32,00,000 apprx
--------------------------------------
COCKTAIL 2 has not done well in Overseas as its business falls well short of TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA which had a similar cast but was a smaller film. In fact, the Overseas numbers are worse than the India figures because if taken on face value, India is not in the success range but at least can be called respectable.

TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA did almost $5 million overseas and here COCKTAIL 2 is languishing on $3.6 million with very little more to come. The film should have done well across all overseas markets but none of them have really performed. The US/Canada market stands $1.275 million whereas TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA did $2.3 million. Basically this market alone will finish $1 million less. Gulf stands at $1 million while TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA did around $1.2 million.

The Overseas collections will also remain below COCKTAIL (2012). The worldwide collections of COCKTAIL 2 stand at 133.50 crore and it looks like a finish of 135-136 crore for the film and this will be less than TERI BAATON MEIN AISA ULJHA JIYA which did 140 crore but was a less costly film. This film was probably the last hope for the genre but its failure will mean no more Rom Com films with a budget of over 100 crore in the near future until there is a turn in the market.

The worldwide collections of COCKTAIL 2 till date are as follows.
India -  99.50 crore (82.75 crore nett)
Overseas -  34 crore ($3.6 million)
TOTAL - 133.50 crore
