After 30 years in the US, Meenakshi Sheshadri has relocated to Mumbai and is looking for her second innings as an actor. She was part of hit projects including Ghayal (1990), Damini (1993), and Ghatak (1996), before quitting films and marrying investment banker Harish Mysore.
On Monday, the 62-year-old shared a video on Instagram, saying, “After 30 long years, I have relocated to my karmabhoomi, Mumbai, and have stepped once again into the entertainment industry with hope, passion and positivity, I’m really looking forward to meaningful opportunities, whether it’s a lead role, supporting character or even a short show.”
She added that she will continue to spend vacation time with her family in the US.
I’m desperately looking for work: Anita Kanwal
Veteran actor Anita Kanwal, known for films such as Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1994) and TV shows including Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Sasural Genda Phool, says she is looking for opportunities in films and on OTT.
The 70-year-old, who began her career in the ’80s, says she is not keen on returning to TV due to the harsh working conditions, including 10-hour + shifts and no day offs.
“I’m desperately looking for work. For a workaholic like me, life is nothing without work. I have been giving auditions, it does not matter to me whether it is a play on the street or a film, I put in the same effort,” she shares, adding, “Not doing TV is a conscious decision unless it’s something meaningful.”
