DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE has emerged the worldwide champion also as it collected a huge 130 crore worldwide on day one which beat the 112 crore of JAWAN and the 103 crore of PATHAAN. DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE collected $4.25 million overseas which was less than the two Shah Rukh Khan starrers but this is without Gulf. If Gulf was there, then overseas would also have been a record by a huge margin.

It is pretty much unthinkable that a film outside a Shah Rukh Khan can do these sort of numbers in Overseas in the main markets but it again shows even in Overseas, its become about the film. Even in UK which is heavily Pakistan/Muslim dominated market, the film set a new record by beating the figures of PATHAAN by a margin and going over the £400k mark.

JAWAN had a release in languages also in India and Overseas but even if you add those, the the number of the SRK film goes to around 121 crore which is still less than DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE. DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE also had a release in languages but it was very limited maybe in a few cinemas; PVR recorded just 250 admits for regional. It is actually today when regional has been released properly and there maybe some decent numbers especially from Telugu.

The worldwide figures for DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE on day one are as follows. This does not include paid previews as after those, the total goes to 195 crore. 

India - 91 crore (75 crore nett)

Overseas - 39 crore ($4.25 million)

DHURANDHAR THE REVENGE was extraordinary on the second day after smashing all records on day one as it collected around 72 crore nett which is a minor drop and this is coming after it was a partial holiday on the first day. It means the drop is hardly anything. The trend is just phenomenal as it could easily have dropped more but the audience is just desperate to watch this film.

The film can be called an ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER already going by this trend but you still always wait for the Monday and after to rubber stamp. The trend is so strong that some circuits are actually a little higher than the first day. The film has a total of around 188 crore nett and this has come in two and a half days with the best two days yet to come.

The next two days will see box office carnage of the sort not seen in recent history. This film at the moment is far bigger than anything we have seen in the recent past and the wait now is actually how well does the film hold over the weekdays. No doubt the film is holding but what will be the level remains to be seen. The film has hit pay dirt and it again shows that ONLY theatres can give you these sort of profits when it goes right. It HAS always been the case and WILL remain the case. The film split into two parts will probably hit a PROFIT going over 1000 crore with all revenue accounted for and this has never been seen or heard of before in the history of Indian cinema.
