Actor Ranbir Kapoor is currently awaiting the release of two of his films, Ramayana Part One and Love & War. While the former is locked for a Diwali 2026 release, there has been considerable speculation around the latter’s timeline.
During an Instagram Live session on Saturday, Ranbir confirmed that rumours of Love & War being postponed are true. However, he stopped short of announcing a fresh release date. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the movie stars Ranbir alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. When first announced, the film was slated for Christmas 2025, but was later pushed to March 20, 2026, a window that also sees the release of Dhurandhar 2.
Earlier this year, reports suggested the film might now arrive only in 2027. However, a source close to the project denied this exclusively to HT, reiterating that the film is still targeting a 2026 release. “The film is very much set to release in 2026,” the source said, adding that production remains on track. “Sanjay Leela Bhansali has just completed shooting a song track, and most of the major sequences have already been wrapped.”
In the Live session, Ranbir clarified that the movie will release after Ramayana Part One, which is slated to hit screens in October. If schedules hold, the film is likely eyeing a December 2026 window, though no official date has been locked.

During the Instagram Live interaction, when asked about his current favourite film, Ranbir Kapoor quickly named Dhurandhar and praised the project. “I think the entire cast and crew just smashed it...really good times at the movies... I am listening to all the amazing tracks from Dhurandhar.”
