The RajaSaab movie review: With a film like this, Prabhas needs to stop, seriously!
Box Office India Trade Network

THE RAJASAAB (Hindi) had a very dull weekend as it collected 3.75 crore nett on Sunday giving it a weekend total of 12.75 crore nett. The film could not even grow on Sunday as generally multiplexes saw minor drops at most places and the growth came in single screens which is a given on Sunday. If we take out the feeding on day one, the film has basically collected the same on each of the first three days.

The results are horrible and Monday will probably be even worse going by the Sunday. The film faded in the South as well as after a pretty good start though it needed to do better. The all India collections of the film are around 100 crore nett over the first three days. The South has done business of around 86-87 crore nett with Nizam/Andhra contributing around 74-75 crore nett of this and 12 crore nett in the other three circuits of Mysore, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The film has cost around 350 crore to make and release. Hence, the makers will suffer hugely with crazy losses with theatrical recovery worldwide unlikely to reach 100 crore. The film had claims of a 100 crore worldwide gross on day one but actually it was 85 crore and even that's over two days as Thursday gave a healthy contribution. The South media even supports duds like this by pushing crazy fake numbers. If it was a Hindi film, it would have been the opposite.

The collections of THE RAJASAAB (Hindi) are as follows.
Friday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 12,75,00,000 apprx
-------------------------
THE RAJASAAB (Hindi) crashed out on Monday as it collected just 1 crore nett which is a huge fall from the first day of over 80%. The collections were fiddled on the first day. So, even if we take the real drop, it is still over 70%. This sort of huge drop is rarely seen. The film has just 13.75 crore nett up on the board so far and its likely the film will not even end up doing 20 crore nett even though there is not much competition this week.

The results are also similar down down South as the all India collections were also down to around 5.5 crore nett on Monday which means 105-106 crore nett across India in all versions over four days plus paid previews. The trend is awful here also though its got some collections in over the weekend unlike the Hindi version.

The pan-India thing, which is a façade, is hitting the Telugu industry hard as the attempts to make bigger films that try to crossover into means Hindi heartland means less content for the local market which is heavily struggling. The business in Hindi is a different kettle of fish altogether and all calculations can go wrong like they have with this film. A regular looking Telugu film will not crossover and this film maybe Telugu looking but the costs are such that you need the Hindi market on side.

The collections of THE RAJASAAB (Hindi) are as follows.
Friday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 13,75,00,000 apprx

THE RAJASAAB is a huge disaster with collections at 104 crore nett plus after five days with collections coming down fast. There was some respite on Tuesday as the Hindi version managed a minor jump. Otherwise, the drop on Tuesday would have been more than 20%. The way this film is going, it will wrap up with around 125 crore nett across India on all versions.

The cost of the film is a huge 350 crore and the theatrical recovery worldwide on a best case will reach 100 crore. It had earned 150 crore from non theatrical but with this box office performance, it is pretty obvious those digital deals will be revised as this is happening almost to every other film. Even if we take it that the deals hold, it is still a 100 crore loss for the film. There will be distributors paying high prices in Nizam/Andhra and overseas but that is all pretty much irrelevant as the adjustments will be done and that's how the business works there for every film. If these adjustments are not done, then there would be no distributors left and no recycling of the money.

The film was claimed to have 100 crore plus worldwide on the first day but the collections over the first five days are 155 crore and the film will close under 200 crore for sure.

The collections of THE RAJASAAB on all versions till date are as follows.
Thursday - 9,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 45,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 23,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 17,00,00,000 apprx
Monday - 5,75,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 4,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 1,04,50,00,000 apprx

THE RAJASAAB (Hindi) had a horrible first week collecting 16.75 crore nett with crashing collections over the weekdays with the holiday period also not offering any support. The collections were under 1 crore nett on Thursday and there will be hardly any collections in the second week as the film has faced complete rejection.

THE RAJASAAB (Hindi) is likely to finish under 20 crore nett and even if it gets there, the actual collection will still be under 20 crore nett as there was feeding on the first day. This film shows how badly it can go wrong for these so called pan India films as the Hindi belt can be nothing if the public is not interested.

The film could not do anything in the South also after the first day as it collected 93 crore nett in the South and collections there also crashed. Hindi is 16.75 crore nett and there is around 1.50 crore nett coming from the Telugu versions in Hindi circuits which gives the film a total of around 111.25 crore nett from all versions for week one.

The collections of THE RAJASAAB (Hindi) are as follows.
Friday - 5,25,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,75,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 3,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 1,00,00,000 apprx
Tuesday - 1,15,00,000 apprx
Wednesday - 1,00,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 85,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 16,75,00,000 apprx
