DHURANDHAR recorded an extraordinary final day of the week as it collected 14.50 crore nett to end the week with a huge 100 crore nett plus total. There has never been a total like this in the fourth week ever and nothing is actually close. Let alone fourth week, there is no other film which has even got 100 crore nett in week three and going back to the third week, there will be around 10-11 films including DHURANDHAR itself.

The film also hit the 700 crore nett at the end of its fourth week and now is in touching distance of the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE record of 735 crore nett plus which it will easily cover over the next few days. However, its likely that the film will come into single digits on its fifth Friday. Still, this fifth Friday will be way higher than any other film has ever seen.

The film has a huge 215 crore nett in Mumbai and Delhi/UP stands at 155 crore nett (biggest of all time). East Punjab also highest ever at 62 crore nett and Mysore also is the biggest ever at over 55 crore nett. Delhi/UP, East Punjab and Mysore will be the record breakers in India as on present trend, its hard for the other circuits to break records.

DHURANDHAR is a sensation in Overseas and is probably one of the greatest box office performances in recent history. It is not the highest number ever but how this film has gone so far in overseas is just remarkable. The core market in overseas is made up Non Resident Indians and Non Resident Asians and a huge chunk of these Asians are from Pakistan and Bangladesh as well as other Muslim countries from Asia and Middle East. The Indian Muslim crowd is very less in the Non Resident Indian contingent.

This is the reason why patriotic films have had less business in Overseas especially the ones which are more front footed towards the patriotism angle. There was an era when those Manoj Kumar patriotic films ruled the charts overseas but post 1994 when overseas opened up, the patriotic film would not be among the biggest grossers mainly as that Asian crowd from other countries, which is mainly Muslim, would not go to theatres feeling it will be anti them or their country.

This reason is here for DHURANDHAR as well but the fact that these numbers are coming without this audience is what makes it the biggest overseas sensation in recent times and possibly even since the markets opened up in 1994. The fact that the film is going to put up $35 million without Gulf and then on top without the overseas Muslim crowd from other countries is just unthinkable.

No doubt some of this heavy Muslim crowd may have seen but most of it would have stayed away. A film not released in Gulf pretty much means a huge chunk of the Muslim crowd in other countries staying away. The reality is that it is competing with the biggest films with maybe just 50% of the potential audience as others with Gulf missing and the bulk of the other Muslim crowd staying away.

The film at present stands at $29.50 million after four weeks and is still going strong and it shows that patriotic and pro India films can now compete with the biggest films in Overseas though treatment has to be different from the regular patriotic film.

DHURANDHAR continues to smash records by miles at the start of its fifth week as it collects 8.50 crore nett and this ensures the film will become the highest grossing film in the Hindi language as now, the film looks like doing business which might hit the 800 crore nett mark or at least be very close. A lot will depend on the Monday and if its business as usual like the Mondays gone before, then 800 crore nett will happen.

This the first time that the film has come into single digits. The film collected in double digits for a consecutive twenty eight days which has never happened before. The film has many never befores and even broken many of the box office rules. Like last weekend, the growth maybe a bit muted as its still that holiday period but its practically certain that the film will set a fifth week record over the weekend itself.

It also remains to be seen that does it top PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE over the weekend or will it be Monday. It has to be noted though that PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) had a lesser release as the film was dubbed and in South it played in the local languages. PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) collected 45 crore nett in South and here DHURANDHAR will be doing 125 crore nett at least. This is why PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) will still hold the records in most of the Hindi speaking belts unless of course DHURANDHAR goes further than expected at present and does 850 crore nett or 900 crore nett.

DHURANDHAR showed growth of 35% on Saturday, which again, like last week, is less growth for a Saturday but its that holiday period. So, its expected and things should change next week as far as Saturday goes. It should be back to normal as holdovers tend to show much higher growth than DHURANDHAR has shown over the last two weeks (Christmas and New Year).

The film collected 11.50 crore nett on its fifth Saturday taking the collections of the film to 720 crore nett and its likely the film will beat the PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE record for a film in Hindi on Monday or Tuesday. Basically, it would cover  the business of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) in around 32-33 days which is a huge achievement especially considering the initial of the film which was just around 25 crore nett with real collection being around 20 crore nett only. It will roughly end up doing twenty times its opening day.

The film has crossed the 65 crore nett mark in East Punjab going 20% more than PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE already and stands at 165 crore nett in Delhi/UP which is around 10% better than STREE 2 and in both circuits the film continues to go strong. The weaker performance of the film is on the Eastern side with West Bengal, Assam and Odisha. It will beat the likes of GADAR 2, ANIMAL and STREE 2 in these parts but will not challenge the bigger films like PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE and JAWAN.

DHURANDHAR created more history in its fifth weekend as it collected 32.50 crore nett which is a record for the fifth weekend by a distant mile. The highest fifth WEEK collection of all time is 27 crore nett which CHHAAVA managed earlier this year while STREE 2 is the only other film over 20 crore nett with 22 crore nett. DHURANDHAR crossed these figures in three days flat.

The total collections of the film stand at 732 crore nett and it is on the verge of beating PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) total and it should happen on either today or tomorrow. The holiday period is over and the film may see a drop now and the ticket prices of the film have come to normal levels for the first time today (Monday).

The film will still have a chance to put up a 50 crore nett week which is simply insane collection for the fifth week. The target for the film is still to get to 800 crore nett and the next 4-5 days will tell if it can reach this mark. There will be competition in the form of THE RAJA SAAB this week which is a dubbed Telugu film but it does seem to have a very Telugu feel to the film which can limit collections especially in North and East India.

DHURANDHAR saw its first major drop on the fifth Monday as it collected 4.25 crore nett with collections going down 50% plus form Friday. This was going to happen as the holiday period is ended and the ticket rates came down to normal. The film may have seen a drop but it has also become the highest grossing Hindi film of all time as it beat the 735 crore nett plus number of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE.

The film edged past PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE on the 32nd day of release and there is still some gas left in the tank which should take the film to the 775-800 crore nett range which will mean around 50 crore nett higher than the Allu Arjun starrer. The film will not beat the footfalls of PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) and it is yet to beat GADAR 2 also but that it will beat and probably end up with footfalls in the 3.5 crore range. This will be second best to PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE (Hindi) post pandemic. It has comfortably beaten all the big Hindi films like STREE 2, JAWAN and CHHAAVA in terms of footfalls.

The fifth week of the film stands at 36.75 crore nett in four days and its probably looking a fifth week total of around 48 crore nett which is a phenomenal figure for the fifth week. Post pandemic, it will be the second biggest HIT to PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE but that film was a SEQUEL while DHURANDHAR is NOT. The target for next part of DHURANDHAR will be to cross PUSHPA 2 - THE RULE in all the circuits which should make it a bigger hit than the Sukumar-directorial.

DHURANDHAR has smashed most lifetime records in Overseas as well as India. At present, its stands the biggest Hindi grosser in US, Canada and Australia. In United Kingdom, its likely to end second as the PATHAAN record will be out of reach. In US, it has beaten the collections of PATHAAN while in Canada and Australia, it was ANIMAL which was the top film and DHURANDHAR has now surpassed ANIMAL.

The film stands at $31 million after the fifth weekend including $500k from Nepal and there is still more to come which could see the film land at around $33 million. This total will be coming without Gulf and its likely the film will have the highest total ever for a Hindi film film without Gulf. This is counting the original Hindi film and not the dubbed, edited and subtitled versions for the far eastern markets.

It is an unknown how much the film would have done in Gulf but considering the rage of the film it could have put up a huge number. The biggest films are JAWAN and PATHAAN at $17.7 million and $14.2 million respectively and a similar number would have meant it would have become number one in Overseas also. There is the other side also that JAWAN and PATHAAN are Shah Rukh Khan-starrers who has a huge following in these areas and these two are way above the others with no other film at $10 million plus.

But with the holiday period and craze the film has generated, you would be on the side of DHURANDHAR to have set huge numbers in Gulf also and maybe a $50 million potential end.
