THAMMA collected 12 crore nett on Friday which was the third day for the film and now the film stands over 50 crore nett with 53 crore nett up on the board which is a healthy total. The drops have come post the first day day but that was always going to happen post the Diwali day with the opening day not pushing to higher levels. So, it was always going to be about how the film comes back over the weekend.

The weekend business is crucial and it must go up to give the film a good chance to run in the long term. The film continues to do excellent business in the Delhi/UP belt though there was a drop on Day three while day two had held very well. The weak points for the film are Gujarat/Saurashtra and East Punjab.

Gujarat should be better as its just a huge holiday period and collections should be much higher. East Punjab is a practically a complete multiplex circuit where this sort of film should be collecting very well. Also films with Ayushmann Khurana have generally out performed in East Punjab though this was pre pandemic and things would have changed since then.

Now its all about the weekend as its Saturday and Sunday when the collections can go back to higher levels with Saturday having potential for strong growth.

THAMMA collected 9.50 crore nett on ist fourth Day which was a drop of around 20% from the previous day. This drops are par for the course in this Diwali week though as the competition EK DEEWANE KI DEEWANIYAT is showing lesser drops daily since release the drops for THAMMA look a little higher.

This has to change on Saturday and THAMMA must trend better on Saturday or at least show strong growth as the numbers are now in single digits. Each day, this Diwali factor wears off a little but this 9.50 crore nett still has a holiday factor in them as some areas see higher collections than they should be. It will be Tuesday or even Wednesday when all comes normal across the country.

The total collections of the film are 62 crore nett so far and now its all about the Saturday and Sunday which have the potential to add significant amounts to the total.

THAMMA showed an upturn in business on its fifth day which was Saturday as it collected 12.25 crore nett which now takes the film to around 75 crore nett in five days. The film needed a bigger jump but it was always going to be tough because so many states are in holiday period and those will not jump much from the previous day. It will be pretty much a similar story on Sunday.

The plus is that the collections remain healthy due to this holiday period but probably not to the level they should be. This is mainly because of Mumbai circuit as in Diwali period this circuit drives collections but that is not the case here with Mumbai circuit being just a little better than Delhi/UP. Normally you would see the circuit at least 50% more than Delhi/UP in Diwali period and if this was happening here, then this film would be heading for a far better result.

The film showed a good jump in East Punjab on Saturday but this a circuit that has just two days on Diwali and then comes to normal levels. The problem here is the film had dropped heavily after those the first two days which sort of indicated issues ahead even though all India collections remained solid. The overall position is still pretty good at the moment but it remains to be seen whether the film can continue this post the holiday period.

THAMMA did well enough over its extended six day first weekend racking up over 86 crore nett but the trend was not so strong with collections on Sunday being almost 50% less than the first day. The film was never going to get back to first day levels on Sunday as the first day was such a huge holiday but you do not want Sunday to be such a big drop from the first day.

The film has managed good collections in pockets but the killer has been Mumbai circuit and especially Gujarat which is a must for Diwali. The film could only reach 3 crore nett total in Gujarat for the first two days when on Diwali when a 5-6 crore nett total in the circuit have come pretty frequently on on successive days. A good performance here and and generally in Mumbai circuit would have made a big difference.

The other circuits have done well enough barring East Punjab but here Diwali is limited to two days. So, when appreciation is not quite there, collections will struggle. However, in Mumbai, the holiday period should have still given the film good collections. There is still some holiday left on Monday with Chhath Puja which should help pockets like UP and Bihar as well as a few others but in the long run it looks a tough road ahead.

THAMMA saw a drop in collections on Monday as it collected in the 3.75-4 crore nett range taking its seven day total to a little over 90 crore nett. The overall total is healthy but the trend is weak. With this film, the writing was on the wall on day three as areas which were not on holiday period saw drops but the cracks were covered by the states which have had a holiday.

The film has seen a big drop in the mass pockets and in many circuits EK DEEWANE KI DEEWANIYAT has gone ahead on Monday though the overall collection is still a little better than the competition but that will not last. It is a ten day extended first week and it may just hit the 100 crore nett mark over the first ten days.

The film should turn out to be an AVERAGE fare unless collections really go down in week two. The results are not good especially on Diwali which will be the reason the film hits the average mark if it gets there. The comparison cant be a film like STREE 2 but eventually a MUNJYA did 100 crore nett and the cost was probably four times less. This will only do a little more than MUNJYA. The horror universe has worked as the makers have been able to create characters like Stree, Sarkata and Munjya but when actors play the characters the impact seems to go missing. THAMMA also had a problem with lack of horror going by reports.

THAMMA collected 5 crore nett on Tuesday as it benefitted from the discounted rates and collections rebounding at places post Chhath Puja which now puts the film at 95 crore nett in eight days. It is probably looking at around 100-101 crore nett over its extended first week as now the films will come down to lower levels as Diwali is over.

The film has a BOGO scheme activated from today and that may hold it up a little better but eventually it cant change the scenario for the film though it should be enough to ensure it reaches that Average mark. The 100 crore nett it is going reach in 12 days should really have been covered and more by Sunday night.

The film has low business in many circuits but the killer are the numbers in Gujarat/Saurashtra as its unlikely any film has survived and gone on to major success on Diwali when Gujarat is not on side in the last twenty years or so. The lifetime in Gujarat may end up around 15 crore nett and that is nothing considering this huge holiday period. Last year, both BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 and SINGHAM AGAIN would have covered this much in 3-4 days alone.

THAMMA comes down to low levels post the discounted Tuesday as it collected 3 crore nett which is a drop of around 40% but more than that, the collections probably needed to be around Monday levels if it was to have chance of a decent second weekend. This has also come with a buy one get one free offer which makes the actual value even lower. 

The collections now stand at around 98 crore nett and it will clear the 100 crore nett mark in the extended first week of 10 days. Basically this is the MUNJYA lifetime business and the Friday collections will tell tell how much more it can do than the Sharvari starrer. The film is now second best to EK DEEWANE KI DEEWANIYAT outside Mumbai, Delhi/UP and Mysore and apart from maybe Mysore it will be a matter time when EK DEEWANE KI DEEWANIYAT goes ahead.

On the first day, THAMMA collected 6.50 crore nett in Delhi/UP and EK DEEWANE KI DEEWANIYAT was 2.50 crore nett. Now that lead will be just around 5-10 lakhs nett coming down to practically nothing from 4 crore nett on day one. There is no major new release apart from BAAHUBALI: THE EPIC which will be depending more on reports and Saturday business. This is a plus because if there was a major new release, then collections of THAMMA would have have really come down due to lack of appreciation.

THAMMA collected 101 crore nett in its extended first week which is a decent figure but the Monday - Thursday collections are hardly 15 crore nett which is less than 15% of the total collections of the film. The collections have come down fast all over and even in Delhi/UP where the film had a very good start.

The telling story is the Gujarat/Saurashtra with dull collections and considering its Diwali, they look even worse and with this market being like this its pretty clear that family audiences have kept away for some reason which is surprising considering it is a part of the STREE universe. The film has got its numbers mainly from the youth.

On Diwali, the families need to come in numbers if the film is really to score and this has not really happened here. The competition this week is BAAHUBALI: THE EPIC and THE TAJ STORY and although, its not huge competition but the former can do numbers while even the latter can do better in pockets.

THAMMA managed to hold its collections on the its second Friday collecting in the 2.25-2.50 crore nett range but the weekdays business in the first week was too low which means this hold hardly means much. If it had come with a higher level of collections then it would be a different story.

The film had a good start in the Hindi mass circuits though it was mainly for Diwali but now those collections are down heavily with EK DEEWANE KI DEEWANIYAT comfortably ahead in UP, Bihar, CI etc when on day one it was less than half of THAMMA. The hold on the second Friday gives the film a chance of closing at around 125 crore nett though even that will not be easy as it will need a decent contribution in week three.

The film has not done well in Overseas either as it clocked up around $2.25 million in its first ten days and it will be the second weekend which will determine if the film can get $3 million though that is not much of a total anyway.

THAMMA showed good growth on its second Saturday as it collected around 3.75 crore nett which is a jump of around 60% from the Friday. This takes the film to 106 crore nett apprx. The second weekend is around 6 crore nett and it should get into double digits but this is a poor return for the film in week two.

There is not much business coming post the extended first week and it looks like it will add only 20-25% after the ten days. Delhi/UP is the standout which should end up close to 35 crore nett business. Mumbai will be around 40 crore nett which is not good especially for Diwali period when this circuit normally outperforms.

THAMMA had a dull second weekend collecting a little over 10 crore nett which is a huge drop from its initial business. The total collections till date are almost 112 crore nett which is fair but its mainly down to the Diwali period and after that its been a struggle for the film. The film has seen opposing results in North India itself with Delhi/UP being good while East Punjab is poor. This is a very rare occurrence.

There will be not be much coming in from here and the final results will be similar to JOLLY LLB 3 which was an AVERAGE fare. Both films have similar costs and business is also in the similar range. JOLLY LLB 3 finished with 115 crore nett and here the numbers could go a little higher towards 125 crore nett but its pretty much the same thing.

The film failed to connect to that crucial family audience over Diwali which can be seen in with the results in Gujarat/Saurashtra which will fall short of 20 crore nett and this mark is nothing over the Diwali period in this belt for a major film like this. The film is practically below EK DEEWANE KI DEEWANIYAT everywhere now apart from the few bigger centres and this will just keep the film ahead in the overall total for the second weekend.
