(Crisp) Movie Review: PREDATOR: BADLANDS by FENIL SETA

Predator: Badlands makes for an unsettling watch in the first 20 minutes. There are no English dialogues at all and one wonders where the film is heading. Thankfully, the film gets better with the entry of Thia. The bond that the protagonist, a humanoid robot and an ape-like creature form is heartening and also raises laughs. The action is a bit gory, but a few fight scenes stand out and deserve praise. However, despite the best of efforts, it gives a feeling of being-there-done-that. The ending is convenient, more so in the very final fight. The track of Weyland-Yutani is also left abruptly. Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi’s face is digitally altered, but performance-wise, he’s first-rate. Elle Fanning is the best part about the film and she's just too good. Mike Homik is okay in a small role. All in all, Predator: Badlands is a good, timepass flick.
