THAMMA did well on its second day collecting around 18 crore nett which takes the film to 41 crore nett. The trend of the film is decent but the issue is though the first day looks good, it probably had to be a bit higher considering the release and the potential of the big Diwali day. The fair value numbers for day one would be 13-14 crore nett taking out the holiday factor and each day, the holiday factor will be coming out.
The film is doing well enough so far but going by these fair value collections, the film will be coming down to lower levels. Then, it will be about how well the film comes back and that will decide the fate of the film. On Diwali, you need a strong Gujarat/Saurashtra belt and though Gujarat is good which is a given on Diwali its not as strong as it should be. Last year, both BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 and SINGHAM AGAIN were fantastic in the circuit and this is despite the latter not doing so well.
The crucial day for THAMMA will be on Saturday as the film is going to be mainly a multiplex film for the youth in the bigger centres. Saturday is the day for this demographic and a good jump will be needed. Delhi/UP continues to do excellent business for the film with two days around the 12 crore nett mark. Mumbai should be the strongest circuit on Diwali and here this is not the case as the first day was held back with Puja falling on Tuesday in Maharashtra.
The two day collections of THAMMA till date are as follows.
Wednesday - 23,00,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 18,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 41,00,00,000 apprx
