The Hollywood release THE CONJURING: LAST RITES had an outstanding first day as it picked almost 17 crore nett. It is the highest opening day of the year for Hollywood easily beating the numbers of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – THE FINAL RECKONING. It also collected around 50 lakhs nett on paid previews. The film is a sure sure HIT and its just about how well it can sustain and how big a HIT it becomes.

THE CONJURING 2 sustained superbly well in 2016 but that film had collections at lower levels and nothing like this. The film should get some growth on Saturday but it was Eid on Friday. So, its likely to be limited. This will be the film driving the box office for the next 7-10 days.

THE CONJURING: LAST RITES was extraordinary on the second day as it collected another 17 crore nett plus to take its two day total including paid previews to almost 35 crore nett. The film is doing fantastically well all over and will easily emerge the biggest Hollywood box office grosser of the year. The target is only 100 crore nett as that is how much films like F1: THE MOVIE and JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH have managed though no doubt the former is the biggest HIT from Hollywood in 2025 till date.

THE BENGAL FILES is a poor fare as it collected 1.35 crore nett on its first day and around 1.85 crore nett on its second day giving it two day collections of 3.20 crore nett. The film is banned in West Bengal which would have been its best circuit. But its unlikely that a release would there would mean the difference between success and failure.
