SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR has done well enough to prove a HIT but considering the first weekend jumps, the film has not really gone on. The NOISE here was very positive in the industry with the SUPER HIT words coming out after the weekend but the film obviously lacked something. The film has mainly come through thanks to circuits like Delhi/UP, East Punjab and Mysore.

But what gives it away is that the admits on the film are just 82 lakh and a film like THUGS OF HINDOSTAN did 1.12 crore. In fact, if we take out the huge first day of THUGS OF HINDOSTAN, when the film had crashed, it still managed 75 lakh footfalls which is almost similar to the lifetime footfalls of SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR. This is a pre pandemic and post pandemic comparison but the other release LAAL SINGH CHADDHA cant really be compared as it was very bad.

Basically the film has done well enough for the genre and its limited audience but not in terms of a major star who has very few releases. Here when he comes with a film, it cant even reach the admits of a big flop like THUGS OF HINDOSTAN despite having some appreciation. It just means something is not right with the film.

India still did well enough to scrape through with pass marks with the real disappointment being Overseas as you just expect an Aamir Khan film to do better here. The film finished with a total of nearly $8 million overseas and the worldwide total is 266 crore.

The biggest hope from the film was post theatrical it maybe could deal a blow to the present power in the industry of the streaming giants but that has gone horribly wrong. It was always a long shot of the film generating revenue on You Tube but the industry lived in hope. The huge You Tube audience simply does not make transactions no matter what the price which has been lowered now for this film but its unlikely to make much difference.
