Actor Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Dhurandhar has hit an unexpected roadblock after a mass food poisoning incident on its Ladakh shoot. On Sunday, August 17, more than 120 crew members fell ill and were admitted to SNM Hospital in Leh, officials confirmed.
“Our doctors were called in for the emergency as the patient rush was very high. By the end of the day, we had about 120 admissions. All were treated and are stable, though five remain under observation,” said the hospital’s medical superintendent.
Doctors reported symptoms of acute gastroenteritis, dehydration, abdominal pain and vomiting. The district administration assisted in transferring some patients for treatment and crowd management. Food samples from the set have been sent for examination, with reports awaited.
The incident, which occurred after meals arranged on the set, left family members of crew scrambling. “My sister, along with her children and sister-in-law, was among those affected. Thankfully, the hospital staff supported us throughout,” one relative said.
While most patients have since been discharged, the film’s makers are yet to release an official statement. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
