SON OF SARDAAR 2 collected a poor 7.50 crore nett on day one though it did better in Delhi/UP and East Punjab and also Rajasthan and Bihar but this was all relative as overall collections are just not good enough. SON OF SARDAAR (2012) had opened to 9 crore nett plus way back in 2012 and was a dull day for collections with a release on Diwali Puja. Delhi/UP has scored over Mumbai circuit on day one and when that happens for a SAIYAARA, then its 100% certain for a film like this which has a far bigger regional feel.

The release is not as good as it should be but then the film has a got an offer. Eventually, its not really about the release as the film has not been able to generate interest due to the trailer and music. These sort of films have to get an opening day in as its very unlikely you can work without getting a good first day number up on the board. The reports are the film are actually okay but with this sort of initial, you need to be have strong reports and that's another thing this genre is very unlikely to have. So, it goes back to that opening is a must.

DHADAK 2 is also poor as it collected 3.50 crore nett on day one and this film also had an offer. The opening collections are similar to METRO...IN DINO but that came without an offer. METRO...IN DINO went on to do decent from Saturday on the strength of a targeted audience of urban youth but this will find it much tougher as it does not have a targeted audience. The urban youth will not be interested much in a caste film while the treatment of the director is such that it holds no mass appeal.

DHADAK (2018) had collected almost 9 crore nett on day one but you cant really compare with that film which had HIT music. These films are actually not about day one but more about what happens after unlike a SON OF SARDAAR 2 where day one is crucial. The film needs a big jump on Saturday which will not be easy.
