SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR collected a little over 6 crore nett which is a decent collection and the film is seeing a better hold than the previous week which saw a 60% plus drop. This week the film can see a trend more towards the 50% weekly drop zone. The film has taken its total to 156 crore nett and now it looks a finish in the 165 crore vicinity.

This wee the main Hindi film was MAALIK which has a different audience from SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR but last week it was METRO...IN DINO which would have more of an over lapping audience and that is why, the drop was probably more in the third week.

The film has easily done best in the North with Delhi/UP standing at 38 crore nett apprx while East Punjab is a very good 17 crore nett. Mumbai is 45 crore nett and the film could have done better here especially places leek Mumbai city and Pune.

SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR crossed the 250 crore mark worldwide in its fourth weekend as it stands at 254 crore. The film can maybe add another 5-10 crore for a finish in the 260-265 crore range. The film should have got higher numbers in overseas due to the Aamir Khan and genre factor but will finish with around $8 million.

The overseas numbers are less than a THUGS OF HINDOSTAN and that is counting the original Hindi film only while a disaster like LAAL SINGH CHADDHA also did $7.50 million. SECRET SUPERSTAR was $6.2 million and this is also counting the original Hindi film only. In India, it has performed better than all these films with huge gaps against LAAL SINGH CHADDHA and SECRET SUPERSTAR which is not the case in overseas. 

The best numbers in overseas are in Gulf but it should have been US/Canada and that is basically where the underperformance has come.

SITAARE ZAMEEN PAR is coming towards the end of its run as it collected 35 lakhs nett on its fifth Friday. The film had a decent trend in week four as it showed of 50% which was better than the previous week as weekdays did well after the Monday drop but now with SAIYAARA, the collections saw another drop.

This film has reached a total of a little over 159 crore nett so far and maybe can add another 4-5 crore nett from here. Its a solid performance for the genre of the film but maybe not for an Aamir Khan starrer especially because collections on the first Sunday went to that 25 crore nett plus mark and then a superb hold on Monday and Tuesday. But after that, it never really went through the way it should. That Saturday to Tuesday period in week one became the saviour of the film.
