The main Hindi release of the week MAALIK stands at around 8.50-8.75 crore nett after two days as it collected 3.50 crore nett on day one and around 5-5.25 crore nett on its second day. The film was never going to get the growth needed on the second day as these types have to get a better opening day. The film had better collections in places like UP, Bihar and Rajasthan on day one and these places grow less than the national average on day two. The jump is 40% which is actually not bad for a film like this but its comes down to the initial as this growth coming from a 5 crore nett number puts a different scenario on the film.

MAALIK could not do much over the weekend as it collected 13.50 crore nett. The initial killed the film as these films are not your Saturday type of films and have to open. Its not the first time this has happened and probably wont be the last when mis casting happens for a film in a certain zone.

The business was better in places such as UP, Bihar and Rajasthan but it needed far better numbers in the circuits to have any chance of succeeding. The film had very dull collections in Mumbai circuit and South which is expected for films trying to cater to the Hindi belts.

AANKHON KI GUSTAAKHIYAN had very dull collections over the weekend as it collected under 1 crore nett. The worst was a film like this actually got a release in overseas and that too all the main markets and no doubt results were a total disaster.
