(Crisp) Movie Review: KARATE KID: LEGENDS by FENIL SETA

Karate Kid: Legends has a run time of 95 minutes. The makers don't waste any time and quickly introduce the characters, the setting and the conflict. A few one-of-its-kind scenes keep the interest going. The humour is well inserted while the finale is clapworthy. However, the story is routine and one can predict from a mile what's going to happen next. A development in the first half is silly. Also, to keep the duration in check, a few characters are left half-baked, diluting the impact to some extent. Ben Wang is damn good in the lead role. Jackie Chan is hardly there in the first half. But in the second half, he is rocking, as expected. One would wish that he had more action scenes though. Ralph Macchio (Daniel LaRusso) has a late entry but makes up for it with his act. Sadie Stanley (Mia) and Joshua Jackson (Victor) leave a huge mark. Aramis Knight (Conor) is okay as the villain. All in all, Karate Kid: Legends is a timpeass entertainer, aimed at families and fans of the series.
